The tiling is gorgeous! The color variation within the tile really make it great. Good call on the gray grout too. Can't wait to see it with the finishing touches!

I have the CB2 lamp. Love it! We were up in the air trying to decide between the CB & CB2 arc lamps. The $100 price difference helped make the decision, but I actually like the shade of the CB2 one better. While the dimmer might be a great option for some, we don't really use it. Also, when it's dimmed any amount it makes a notable hum. It also takes a specific light bulb that I haven't had to replace yet that I'm certain you can't just get at any store.

@claireunderwear Check out Stitch Fix. I've gotten a few deliveries from them to try and get myself to get away from my usual. I have definitely gotten a couple things that I would not have normally given a second glance in a store.

I am going to echo most of what people are saying and start with the red paint. I think an off white or a light grey would look great, just enough to be slightly different from the white trim that's there already. In my 1950's house, I have found that the greys really help with the wood tones that are from that time period. I would also maybe think about painting the door, a white to match the trim maybe? Because you're just renting, I wouldn't tackle the cabinets with paint. If you do change out the hinges, I would make sure that the current ones aren't leaving any damage that the new ones won't be covering up. Good luck!

I inherited all of my Grandmother's sewing things and that sewing box happened to be one of the things. I love it! Glad to see it in use somewhere else!
