Apartment Therapy New York | "Punished to the Corner" Storage by Cristina Toledo

Old homes of historic value are moved all the time for any number of reasons. One was just moved in NYC just a few blocks from the orig. spot.
There must be a spot on this land that the house could be moved to that is higher. I don't think the Gods of old homes would be that up set.
Next time the flood may take the house away.
I wonder what the cost of fixing this home today is compared to the orig. home cost to build it?

It seems as of the past 5 or so years it does not matter where you live, (good or bad) neighborhood, you may get a gun put in your face.
I say clean up you neighborhood, add lights and make things better. If you have to walk 5 blocks to a subway or bus station and walk in fear, then what does old character really do for you.

Jenzoe---you are such a nice mother or father for doing that for your kid---any son would just love such a item to play with. Do the play thing first and then find others for the bathroom. :-)

Cojaclynsy----these homes are one block east of Broadway behind a Japanese steak house called Go Goes---not sure of the spelling on the steak house.

I know this street in kansas city. There are really about 9 homes all together that are painted like this---in different colors. Flowers to match most years. It's fun to walk down the street, but feels like a theme park to me. I think they are all office buildings, not really 100% sure though. Sarah should of put a long shot of them all in her pitch. They also have very well kept lawns and gardens to make them look like a total image. They would fall apart real fast if there was not this attention to detail.

I wonder what really nice looking 12x12 vinyl floor tiles would do for keeping out the sounds---perhaps even 2 layers used. The non shinny looking tiles.

If we are killing off animals to get the quills then I say no.
If this is made in a far off land, I would tend to think animals are being taken down for the quills.
It is an interesting look though---far better then turtle shells hanging on a wall.

If they were dispalyed on thier sides, a glass votive sitting next to them would help show off their magic better. I agree with the others that a candle in them would probably be a mess to clean.

In the real old days, people would use leather on the inside surface of wood doors to keep sounds out and in. That would be really pricy today I guess.
I did most of these suggestions to my door and still I hear noice from the hall---but I do think the hall does not hear my noise much at all now.
I always thought metal doors had cardboard on the inside of them? I would be reluctant to drill holes into the side of my metal door. Perhaps if I were to add moldings to the inside of the door, I would drill some holes to put foam into first and then cover them with the molding.

These rooms all have a individual one of a kind feeling about them---nothing cookie cutter about them at all.
GREAT rooms indeed!

I'm sorry to see the front of the store painted like that.
Perhaps the rest of the street looks strange, so it might fit in just right.
