While these things are gorgeous, this post is silly to the point of being irresponsible. Why would you buy these overpriced filled spice tubes from Dean & Deluca? You should have provided a link to a reasonably-priced source. Also, about "Having beautiful decor in the kitchen inspires and nurtures our soul." What a ridiculous, empty, throwaway statement. What does it even mean? That having pretty stuff makes you happy? Makes you a better person? In particular stuff in the kitchen?

Just put your compost in a reused plastic bag and store it in the freezer. I suspect that anything above and beyond that is unnecessary consumption.

This was very good, even without the pancetta. Next time I might throw a parmesan rind in.

I'm confused about:

1) why you would ever want to put sugar in a smoothie when fruit has plenty of sugar in it as it is, and
2) why anyone would need a recipe for a smoothie, let alone a blog post.

Why didn't they set a good example by getting a dog from the shelter? 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year.

I disagree! I have been a vegetarian for 8 years. I do crave fish sometimes, but I never crave any other type of meat. And considering how many vegetarians eat fish, I wouldn't consider that a "meat" craving.

It's not evolution that makes them so common. It's the fact that they are cheap. Yes, technology had to evolve to make them cheap, but technological evolution isn't to blame here.
