I use bathmats with a rubber backing. Absorbent? Yes. Machine washable? Yes. Anti-slip? Yes. Cheap? Yes.

I keep a pile of three or four in a cabinet and whenever the current one gets too dirty I throw it in the hamper and pull out another one.

What I love most about this is how *real* it is. I HATE seeing made-over pantries where eight bottles of water and six jars of pasta sauce have been lined up in an other wise empty space. Clearly the people who use this pantry actually eat food, actually buy stuff, and actually do not have hundreds of dollars to make over a food closet.

Kudos on working with what you have, staying within a budget and making it better for YOU!

I too would like a plant that eats black and whites.

Thanks to everyone who commented on flowers and cats (janel, stacey, janie02, marieroxanne, nicolemari, roseslaw, bibliovore and mamakate (sorry if I missed anyone)).

While I clean the floors this weekend I can review some of the options and links and decide what will work best for me and buds.

I'd hate to have so say goodbye to flowers forever just because of Nosey and Nosier, so thanks again for all your help and encouragement!

Is there a secondary option for the flowers? I have two cats who insist on sampling all plant life that enters the house. Due to them, I have not had flowers in my place in years. I would buy them more often, but a $6.00 bouquet from the deli could easily become a $450.00 emergency trip to the vet if I buy the wrong thing.

How do other pet owners work around this hurdle?

I, too, delete the "Sale, Sale, SALE!" emails, and throw out the catalogs before they even get in the house.

BUT, I tell my inner-greedy Christmas child that she can have ANYTHING she wants, after New Year. Usually by then I've come down from the holiday hype, however a little, "Thank-God-I-Made-It-Through-Everything" Gift for myself can be nice.

@sherrybinnh - If @canadianmango wasn't selling them, or claiming they were originals, is it still a violation of copyright? or forgery? I would say it was more art "influenced" by the originals.

That said, I love the pieces by Banquet and Hinge.

Cat grass. One vendor sells baskets of growing pet grass and it is the longest lasting, best quality and, I assume, best tasting grass ever. (The reason I assume it tasted so good? When this grass is available it is the only time fat cat will choose anything else over food.)
