If you are familiar with Bratz, Barbie, tattoos and all, seems pretty tame.

@vic, using your security is not legal in some circumstances, as the deposit is put in often put in escrow. My last building (60 units) was owned by a leasing company, and I received a letter of interest from the bank which held my deposit every year for my taxes.

Not that it mattered; when I moved out they kept a portion of the deposit for "damages." I never saw the interest.

Since I have hardwood floors, I don't need this tip right now, but I will keep it in mind for future reference.

I am no longer allowed to go to Chinatown, as I keep buying beautiful chopsticks with the promise that *this* time I will learn to use them! I have over 30 sets of chopsticks, mostly used for mixing cocktails, or latte style cups of coffee.

@JudiAU is probably right. That, or one full bag of Smartfood, one piece at a time.

You are not alone!

@herong - I think the "Before" picture was actually a "During" you can see that one cabinet door is up (near the sink) and they have started painting. Chances are someone said "Oh, we should have taken a before picture" after they had already stated.

I too woudl like a cost breakdown including freebies and "already-had's." I'm very doubtful about 17.00 for the entire project start to finish.

Locking 6" high casters would be my first choice (http://www.amazon.com/Casters-Total-Lock-Swivel-Plate-Mount/dp/B002MMSIXK). But second choice is @TWilliams suggestion - a raised top with the actual top as open storage. I suppose it depends on the look and functionality you want.

Either way, great find for use in a kitchen. I'd love something like that.

I agree with the others who suggest moving the bed between the windows. I shared a smaaaaaaaalllllll bedroom with an ex once, and we had no choice but to put the bed on the corner. After two years of crawling over him to get to the bathroom and beck I swore I would never push the bed in a corner again.

If you do decide to move the bed you will have room for a nightstand for each of you, and still have plenty of room, for a second desk perhaps?

While it may not be the right "look" there are converter kits available to close in a shelf. I found these by searching "metro shelving doors:"

http://www.organizeit.com/wire-shelving-enclosures-and-doors-black.asp

It's certainly possible that there are many other types of kits out there. hunt around and for under $100 you may find some piece of mind.

There's lots of "Last Chance" signs up in the Brooklyn store, and I may have to drive out to the Long Island one to pick up a few things that are no longer in stock.

I like the focus on multi-use that seems to be in the new layouts. It speaks directly to my apartment situation in a junior one bedroom.

FYI... In case anyone goes tearing off to IKEA to get this dresser, it's actually a Malm, not a Rast. The drawers on the Rast are set into the frame unlike the item pictured here.

Otherwise, GREAT JOB. I love that each drawer has it's own unique pattern.
