Most wine is not meant to be aged??? What wines are you drinking? Most wine I buy is designed to be aged for at least 3 years or longer.

And while I'll agree that if you drink the wine quickly, you could argue that storing them upright is OK, but I'm a firm believer that all wine should be on it's side, no matter how long it takes you to drink it.

Yes - this has happened to me. But in my case I had 2 birds in the course of an hour. One was smart enough to fly out on his own, but the tiny swallow that was in my house was trapped behind my wine rack and couldn't get out. Of course, in the meantime I'm freaking out and trying to shoo him out... He finally left. But I wish I had thought to call a bird loving friend. :)

I am proud to say that I am a MOPPER! Coming from a family of Italians, it was status quo to mop up the pasta sauce with a big hunk of bread at the end of any meal. To not do so was a sin and considered blasphemous.

I still do it to this day. :)

I try my darndest not to turn on the heat at all. And if I do turn it on, it's not really on. It's just set so low that it rarely kicks on. :) Of course, my houseguests tend to complain, but that's why sweaters and blankets were invented. :)

My parents still live in the house I technically "grew up" in - that is to say, the house I spent my formidable years of Junior High, Senior High, and college. But I don't have a room there anymore - in fact, my old room now belongs to my younger sister.

So when I go "home," the house still feels like "home" because it's where my parents live, but it's not my home. But like I tell my friends, home isn't where I grew up, home is where my family is, so if they moved across the country or around the world, that would be "home" to me. :)

But this is definitely a clever use for old paint sticks! I most likely would have painted them (only because the natural "wood" wouldn't go with anything in my apartment).

I wonder if this could have been done using the shade as a "template" instead of gluing them to the shade itself? Just a thought!

My favorite thing to do is take a box mix and then embelish it or change it up. Most of the time, I can use the box mix as a base for something and spice it up with varying ingredients (with varying results of success). Guess you could say I like doing it the "semi-homemade" way! :)

Those mid centure modern club chairs are the MOST COMFORTABLE CHAIRS EVAR! I have actually sat in those chairs - they're located at the Strasburg Emporium. Wish I had $325 so I could buy one... :) Good find AT!

I agree - I use my microplane anytime I need to mince my own garlic. It really gives the dish a great garlic-y flavor and it's super easy to use!
