I was really inspired by the DIY project for the chandelier in this room!

Reminds me of 'Bob' and 'Emily's' bedding in "The Bob Newhart Show".

I wonder how you fwd from track to track? It doesn't say at MoMa.

The advantage of this is that it could be mounted out of inquisitive preschoolers/toddlers who love those shiny discs. I keep an inexpensive clock/cdplayer next to my son's bed. He loves to switch out the discs and fwd through the songs. But he's hard on the CDs (which are easy enough to burn again, I suppose)

After shopping for back to school stuff this week, it would appear that most of the big discount-retailers are jumping on the back to college bandwagon. Walmart, Target, Kmart, you name it. I just bought my teenage-son a great "Bed in a Bag" (gasp!) bedding for a great price at Target. They seems to be modeling their line of college bedding after Urban Outfitter's.

Is that show "Flip that House" still around?

It stood for all that was bland and soul-less about homes:

- Khaki Walls
- Stainless Steel appliances
- Granite counter tops

and of course...

- Travertine tile throughout. Let's put it in the hallway, the kitchen and the bathroom - just...because it shows well.

It makes me sick to think that if I choose to sell my house within this decade, that I must install the above. Blech.

Why are people complaining that we're all "complaining"? This is a post offering the opportunity for us to ...complain. Tough.

Decorative word art thingy's you find at TJ Max such as "Family" "Faith and Hope" "Live Love and Laughter" etc etc.

Too many decorative pillows. Especially those covered with materials you would never actually rest your head on--such as beading.

Cutsey Folk art

I'm thinking 60's. I recognize some of the books in the bookcases as ones that my parent's own. They were book- of-the -month club classics that were published in the 60's.

Also.. abstract art.. plus mid-century couches.. plus pendant lamp.. minus any irony = "the 60's"!

We were able to contain our little guy in the family room with baby gates, but I know that doesn't always work in some rooms. The pack and play only seemed to get used at Grandma's house.

I have something similar. It is great for drying freshly painted creations as well as displaying.

@slowdown: I agree! Someone needs to publish a book or start a blog about how to decorate the common cookie- cutter home. Mine was built in '91, complete with the crescent shaped windows, cheap oak trim and ugly banisters. I love the ideas that I see on AT and other design blogs, but can't always incorporate them into my home.

Not sure if this would fit in with the Steampunk theme, but I thought this print was awesome.

I would invest in a gate like this if it were to be a permanent fixture (as a pet gate for example). But for toddlers, the gates are up for maybe like a year or year and a half? Not that long. Although, I guess if you plan on expanding your family it may not be a bad investment.

The last time I used Pandora, you weren't able to stream it from i tunes or any other media players - making it problematic to play it through your stereo system. Has this changed? Otherwise, you'd need to leave a laptop in the nursery.

Perhaps if it was a bed it would be a bit more practical. I could see this in a young adults apartment. But then again, how would guests watch TV?
