Yeah, what is that supposed to mean LoriSF?

It's a nice little blog written by an old friend...can't hate that.

Crass? You've got to be kidding me.

Perfect, yes. Crass, no.

I would love to see a pic of what you did, manu_pty.
I've been wanting to get the same garland in black as you for my bedroom, but don't want it to look harsh..

Could someone explain why they prefer the 'before' bedroom?? I certainly don't think it looks bad, but the bedding flooring wall colour bedside table configuration doesn't really work for me. I think the 'after' is leaps and bounds better.

Not gunna lie - I like these. Not all together...mind you. But a little singular dose here or there? Nothing wrong with that.

Keep in mind I was born in the 80's though, so I missed out on these prints the first time around.

Totally hot. I come from a city with a strong bike culture and lots of unique and colorful bikes, so I wouldn't feel the least bit embarrassed to ride around on one of these. Well..maybe the red one is a bit much.

Haha, totally tacky tacky picture.

I would definitely replace the glass unless the host was totally adamant that I was being ridiculous. In that case, then flowers, gift card, invite to dinner, whatever, would be appropriate.

1.The couch should be on the wall where the TV is. This will make your sweet rug seem like a much better size, as it will now be situated along the shorter length of the room.

2.Then the armchairs should live across from the couch, with one near the window for ease of spying.

3. I like the curtains, but the sheen is a bit distracting and it's not really doing anything good with the wall colors. How about taking the curtains and that cute but inappropriate white side table and using them elsewhere? They would look nice together in a bedroom.

4. If the white side table goes, then the ottoman can stay.

5. Decide what to do with the TV once the furniture in the room feels right. It's so tiny that it shouldn't be too hard to find it a happy, functional home as well.

Have fun! It's nearly there!

How about loading the mantle with various glass jars and vases full of yellow and white flowers? The more the better, but keep the flower types the same. Make a sweet little garland with cut out colored paper (heart shapes? or the names of the bride and groom?) and put up something above the fireplace (a blown up picture of the couple, or something out of cut paper adhered to the mirror) This look is a bit cutesy...and maybe too casual...but certainly affordable!

I definitely prefer the original. I think it's true that the second would like nice in the Fall and not so nice for the rest of the year. The combo of white with a dark blue or black looks great with a vibrant green lawn and all different types of plants and flowers. Also those colors seem to keep better with the style of the home.

So I think..refresh the colors, get some bigger shutters, make your front door amazing, and then invest your money in majorly beefing up the landscaping.

My first thought was deep blue too...Look at how nicely your Denim clad gentlemen complements the room. Maybe even just try it on one wall at first, if you're worried?

More importantly though: Are those Hippo pillowcases??? Please say it's true.

Hmmmmm maybe you could...

1. Arrange your tickets and color copy them onto paper. Then you could use the new printed paper for wrapping gifts, lining drawers, stationary, etc.?

2. Similar to above, but have your tickets screenprinted onto an item of clothing or bag or whatever. Be the envy of all your friends when you show up to a game with your hip new DIY shirt.

This way you could still keep your tickets tucked away in a box, but you would have some nice ways of showing them off and sharing them with other hockey fans.

This is why I think home design should never be taken too seriously. Accept the temporal nature of fashion, and then just have fun with it....because there is no doubt that one day you will look back at old pictures of your apartment in 2009 and say, "Wow. That was weird."

A small, hand held steamer is probably adequate. The one I've used worked incredibly well and was easy to hide away.

Any form of factory farming (be it beef or mink) is not green, or even close. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking that owning a super-modern-water-repelent-Gortex-whatever jacket is any more environmentally friendly. Maybe it's less "cruel" because no creature was killed in the process, but there's a good chance someone in a factory somewhere still suffered for its creation, and the byproducts are still ending up in the same streams and soils.

If your fur products are being harvested and made pioneer-style though...well then that's a different story altogether, and I really don't have a problem with that.
