You can also just take a bus to the store from Port Authority, although then you're looking at hauling it home on the bus or using their delivery service. Easier than going to Long Island twice in one day to return a car.

Got it, I clicked the link for the Joinery and it actually takes you to a different store in Portland not the store that should sell the mat.

All kinds of mix ups I guess.

I couldn't find this product on the Joinery website. Is this too new for offer online or is it in store only?

I've never had problems moving plants into or out or CA (the latest "caper"was just this summer) although they weren't out in the open and wasn't asked directly if I had anything. I know you said you won't be able to drive (what a shame since there is such amazing country to bee seen in a 4 day cross country jaunt!) so I echo others who've mentioned trying to get a college kid or someone who might be making the drive as well. You might be able to box them and have the shippers deal with it (with extra precautions for water absorbtion and heat) but if your cargo needs to be transported to other trucks this will most likely be too much time and stress on your plants.

Some of them look quite large - more like small trees, so maybe you can water well and and expedite ship them for the best results.

Best of luck!

Blu Dot has a storage bed that allows you to customize the drawer colors, which is kind of fun. It's priced less than many of the models listed above.

Tema Home (I believe they have a shop at ABC Home) also has a reasonably priced storage bed, however it's better suited to seasonal storage since you access it by lifting the mattress. I believe it is priced under $2000.

I got a deal on the Matera from DWR and I will say it's a gorgeous and well made bed. We love it and feel it was worth the expense to add storage in our NY apartment. The drawers are the roomiest I've seen on a storage bed, and the soft closing hardware is fantastic. To anyone in the NY area the Annex in NJ is a good place to try to find deals on DWR products.

We opted for the Elfa for 2 of our 3 closets (and we'll do Elfa in the third closet at some point). We wanted to add some extra storage shelves in our laundry closet and thought we would just go with the cheaper Rubbermaid from HD since it was just 2 wire shelves, but after looking at the options at HD we went down the block to the Container Store and ended up purchasing the much sturdier and attractive Elfa and don't regret spending the extra money for a better product. Just like redneckmodern, we also think that the continuity and quality of the Elfa will be a selling point for when we move.

I saw the premiere at Sundance in January sand this film has stayed with me for the last 10 months, it was a riveting 90 minutes, and the subjects were fascinating. I would love to see this film again. The NYT did a write up on the Seigel's suing Lauren Greenfield back in June. It's a compelling story that is still in progress.

My favorite multi tasker in the kitchen in a grapefruit spoon. Perfect strawberry huller (and safe for kiddos), great for scraping skin from ginger, seeding squash, seeding and deveining jalapeno peppers as well as for use as a citrus spoon! Takes up next to no space in my drawers!

I also love my cherry/olive pitter!

If you still have the sofa on your loading dock try calling DR. Sofa - I have had several clients use them for this exact thing and they are great, and as Lcraig said it's only a few hundred dollars. I've even heard about them removing a sofa arm and re sewing the fabric so it's impossible to tell it was ever removed. Far cheaper and less hassle than buying a new sofa. Best of luck!

When I saw the photo my initial reaction to the Tolomeo was, Oh that shade gets hot. The rim isn't sharp though. Have you thought about the eclisse lamp?
http://www.ylighting.com/art-eclisse.html

It's shape is friendly, and the light is adjustable.
It has the ability to be mounted on the wall or for use as a table light.

Depending on how old the children are, the tolomeo might work for you, if you live close to a DWR they should have an aluminum shade tolomeo on display for you to feel/see the construction in person. In NY there are numerous stores that sell them.

Best of luck!

DWR carried the original Knoll manufactured chairs and pads, you could check with their Annex in NJ and see if they have any pads available at a discount. If you aren't in the NY/NJ area you can call them and have them shipped. AT just had a post the other week about crocheting Eames wire chairs, don't see why that same treatment wouldn't work on the Bertoia chairs.
