I think this looks great. Are they blocking negative comments, though? Unless they're downright hostile and vulgar, I don't think negative (or positive ones for that matter) should be blocked. A dissenting opinion is okay... Before & After: Mid-Century Inspired Dresser Knobs from Mason Jar Lids |

Ha ha Miklakmiklak - I remember our DINK days... we had lots, well not lots, but definitely more disposable income, that's for sure. LOVE this place and all that exposed brick. It's just gorgeous. Maurice & Todd's Old Chicago Electric Substation Loft House Tour |

I really like it and think it's very nice, just the way it is. I especially love the touches of green in the kitchen. It's very cozy and looks like a happy place to cook. Kelly and Michael's Light and Bright Abode House Tour |

I also love the frosted animal cracker art piece. I need one of those for something or the other... I don't know what, I just NEED it. Love your house and it's interesting to be able to see inside a dome home that's really being lived-in. Very, very cool. Keith & Fran's Arty Geodesic Dome Home House Tour |

We live in a 1956 modern ranch that has a bar area in the basement covered in knotty pine, similar to no. 1. My son's bedroom is also completely covered in knotty pine. All of it is original to the house and I wouldn't dream of painting any of it. I, personally, think it's gorgeous. One day, when my son moves out (not for a long time), I'm going to turn his room into my office and I will be surrounded by knotty pine. I don't find it to be dark and depressing. Instead, I find it to be warm and inviting. Wood Paneling: The 60s Favorite Is Back |

The biggest perk for me, as a renter, was not having to deal with maintenance and I got to live in a house that I could otherwise not afford. Unfortunately, we had lousy downstairs neighbors that ironically drove around with "Coexist" bumper stickers but clearly didn't didn't understand the meaning of the word. I wasn't allowed to paint the walls, we were still responsible for all utilities and we frequently had our parking spots taken, leaving us nowhere to park. We decided to buy a house because the buyer's market is so good in our area. My mortgage, including taxes and insurance, is lower than my rent. I'd much rather be a homeowner but I think it's a highly personal choice and really depends on your stage of life and future goals. What Amazing Perks Do You Have as a Renter? Reader Survey |

Our house was an estate home and the daughter had it painted in chalky white contractor paint before she put it on the market. I've been slowly re-painting, but our living room and hallway are pretty large, and I just haven't gotten to those areas yet. I think when I do re-paint, I'm going to keep it white, though. Just in a softer shade with a bit more sheen. I actually like the way the white looks with all of our furniture, etc. I don't like that I can't scrub kid fingerprints off of the flat paint. It's definitely on my list of "to-do's". Wonderful White Walled Rooms from Our House Tours Renters Solutions |

I went to her blog and I really like the crystal knobs. The color is also very nice. I'm not sure I would call it "modern" at this point, though. It looks more shabby chic to me with the sanded edges, etc. I like it and think it looks better than the before. Battered Sideboard Goes Blue Primitive & Proper |

I always over-think these things. I like all of the vacation choices. Then I start to feel pressured to pick one. At this point I'm starting to analyze what it means that I think I'd like to visit a museum a little bit more than I'd like to go hiking on a mountain, but I'm not sure because I'd really like to do both. I agonize over my decision a little longer and finally decide on museum. I pick "outgoing" and "happy", although I might be "quiet" and "serious", it really depends on the day. I feel l like I should call my friends and ask them what they think of me, but that might be a little too much effort. After it's all said and done, the results are yellow and blue. That's okay, but not really doing a whole lot for me. Maybe I'll try mountain, quiet and serious to see what I get. My Life, My Colors Quiz Discover New Colors For Your Rooms |

I think it looks really nice. A big improvement over the giant one-piece mirror. We have a mirror like that, but I'm not sure this would work in our bathroom. It does give me some ideas, though. Before & After: From Big & Blank to a Built-In Look for the Bath Home Talk |
