I agree with vintr. The tour is bad since it is just a bunch of close-up pictures of random stuff. We get it. You love your knick-knacks. But I want to see the layout and functionality of the space.

How do plastic dressers fit with this aesthetic?

Ironically, at least 11 of these "treats" require leaving the house that they just renovated. Would have thought the point of renovating to be creating a home where you would want to spend more time. Maybe that's just me.

It might be easier and cheaper to make the doorway wide. Call a carpentar or drywaller.

Then you can get it in and out without a problem.

White to the Road - Learn something every day.

But listening to the podcast there is no good reason given to why it must be white; only that they should all be the same to avoid a "crazy quilt" look to your house. Couldn't they all be green, or all yellow, or all neon orange and avoid that problem? Why white?

I've said it before. And I'll say it again. This is just frozen, pureed fruit. Basically, a sugar-less sorbet. You can use just about any fruit and get a comparable result.

This is NOT by any stretch of the imagination "ice cream." That requires the presence of cream.

I would probably put three twin sized beds in the largest bedroom, maybe with privacy curtains around each, make the second bedroom an office/gaming area and leave the living room as is.

In my experience, people who choose to live with roommates spend more time in common/communal areas and to have more of that would be preferable to gigantic isolated bedrooms (especially if they are very social and like to have parties and other friends over).

It is hard to tell if putting up a wall in the LR to createa BR is feasible since you don't give dimensions. The room has to be as least large enough along one wall to fit a bed.

I can't take this guy seriously. That 100 square foot home isn't wired for electricity (unless you run an extension cord from someone else's home), or plumbed for running water. Didn't he use a bucket for his toilet? And his water source was a dispenser on the countertop?

He talks about quality materials. But that's ridiculous when you don't even have the means to wash your hands in your own home.

I'm all for primative living, if that's what you want. But primative living is not the same as small space living; and I think he confuses the issues and does a disservice to all of us small-space dwellers by making it appear that we all are willing to give up our toilets and electricity in order to save some space.

In the bar we stacked them top down, in order to let them drain/dry properly. Glasses have such a quick turn-over there, there is no chance for them to get dusty. Each glass will be used 5-10 times over the course of a day.

I've never seen them stacked. There is way more space than glasses available. Even at the end of the night after all have been washed, they just fill the space.

I've owned two houses--including my current one--that had no closets, so I am used to open closets. I consider my bedroom to be off-limits to guests, so the appearance only has to please me; and I am not bothered by it. It helps to have all matching hangers. I group by type of clothing (slacks, tops, jackets, jeans, rugged wear, etc).

Clothes that are not worn often and vulnerable to fading or dust are simply stored in muslin garment bags.

I would put you and your husband in the far left room because, as a couple, you need the most privacy. The upper half of the adjoining room would be the other bedroom; perhaps with a twin bed secluded behind some type of partition. The lower half of that room could be a study area if you block off the entrance (do you need two?).

That leaves the whole right half for the common area; and a better arrangement if you have company and don't want to complete ban them from the kitchen.

You might have to break that sectional into pieces, but that's the advance of a sectional instead of a couch. Must more versatile.

Again, frozen, pureed bananas is not ice cream.

Ice cream must contain cream! Not frozen ice milk, not frozen yogurt, and definitely not frozen bananas.

Words are important.

From the looks of that mess, I find it interesting that she claims to be a professional organizer. Maybe she is like the cobbler whose children have no shoes.

I could live in 90 sf; but not the way she has it set up. She needs to purge about 75% of the stuff. And then organize it so it doesn't look like the shelves are going to fall down if somebody sneezes.

For me it is the number of hours, but whether the number is a multiple of 90 minutes. Most people sleep in, approximately, 90 minute cycles. So I can feel just as rested with 3 hours, as with 6 hours or 9 hours. But if I get 7 hours or 8 hours then I am toast.

It has something to do with the natural cycle; with the goal being to get out of bed when you find yourself awake naturally because it is the end of the cycle. This also helps me determine when to go to bed, so that my desired waking time is at the end of one of the 90 minute cycles.

I read about this in a book about the brain, and it has changed my life.

I wouldn't put up curtains or shades. If privacy is an issues just buy some spray frosting. You can scrape this off with a razor when you move. Why block out all that beautiful light, in what otherwise looks like a dark alcove?
