You say butternut squash in the list of ingredients but pumpkin in the body of the recipe. While I assume you can use both, I think you probably need to change it in the recipe body so as to avoid confusion.

I recently followed a recipe (with an ingredient packet) to make canned ketchup from Mrs Wages. Wanting to recreate the same tasting ketchup in my kitchen, because we all liked it, I read the ingredients. I found xanthan gum in the list of ingredients. I actually have it and contemplated putting it in my ketchup to keep it from separating (I think this is why it is added). I think after reading your post and the comments here I will forego using it until I know more. Thank you.

I am surprised by the number of people who do not like relish in their tuna salad. I make it both ways but like it best with the relish. I also like to add vinegar or lemon, oil and garlic instead of the mayo way.

I LOVE BAY LEAVES! I use them in all my soups and when I make beans. My husband uses it as a tea as it has a calming affect on the stomach. Maybe it is the reason why chicken soup is soothing besides the other wonderful ingredients. And Old Bay seasonings. That too. I would have to say that if your bay leaves taste like nothing then throw them out and buy some new ones.

If you use canola then you will have Genetically Modified Organisms in your food. The people in Italy do not have such foods. They have made sure GMO's dont come into their country.
