Definitely too staged looking. Most entries are from people who truly love their homes, and the spaces typically reflect a bit of the owners' soul. This just feels commercial.

Wonderful! Very inspiring, warm family home. Great job on making an inviting and usable space from what used to be a creepy basement. Thanks for sharing.

Great idea! Though they are actually called 'hoops,' not 'loops.' :)

I agree, great tips overall, but I'll be looking at less expensive options for new sheets and towels. Thanks also for the links!

You could also use a heavy duty Command hook, and not have to put any holes in the wall!

I agree with some pop of color that feels right to you--a variation on your blue, or even a nice rich red. Our house is fairly neutral, but we have a red, a purple, and a teal painted wooden chairs that migrate to different rooms and give some surprise and interest.

Once you get the gunk off with vinegar, polish with a microfiber cloth--the ones made for glass are smooth, not terry cloth--they get windows soo nice and streak free.

I don't have a Dutch Oven, either. I use the insert from my Crockpot--it's nice and heavy, and works great.

I second the idea of the large Command hooks to hold a rod--then you can easily remove them when you move.

The idea of the stain is kind of cool and different, but both types of pulls seem like odd choices for this piece.

Small. I like color, but can't bring myself to do anything really bold with the walls.

Danica--Wow! Thanks for the link. We have nice 50 year old oak floors in part of our bedroom, but where previous owners added on, the floor is 25 year old carpet over wavy plywood. We've been stuck trying to figure out a nice looking, cost effective, non-carpet option. This looks promising.

Eww. Not in my kitchen! I'm a convert of microfiber cloths--the smooth ones are amazing for polishing stainless or glass. You don't even need any chemicals.
