Even 'natural' pesticide are not typically safe for pets and people. Hence the keep away from children labels. I've found the best thing to do if you want a weed-free lawn is to use a grass seed which is allelopathic (prevents other plants from growing). There are a few of these grass varieties out there, the best one I know of in Canada is eco-lawn from wildflower farm. My great aunt had a photo of herself and her husband printed on a couch. It was the most awkward thing to sit on. You would be sitting on them while talking to them. Maybe eye catching, but terrible for conversation because everyone was always so uncomfortable about it. Would You Sit on a Stephen Colbert Sofa? |

Be careful with this method as some plants can experience root rot from too much water. I would recommend misting your plants for added humidity instead of keeping their roots wet.
