wanted to add:

these laundry services some of you speak of sound awesome! I think its totally worth it to pay someone else to fold and wash your laundry. I've always had my own washer & dryer in my place, so I couldn't imagine having to share laundry machines with neighbors or lug clothes to a laundromat.

The costs may add up but it seems worth it if you dont have to sit with your clothes for hours as they wash and dry.

laundry is pretty easy for me. Its definitely annoying but pretty easy. I'm single, living alone, and have a laundry room in my apartment. I only wash on Sundays and its only about 3 loads: darks, colors, towels. Bed linen gets washed once a month. Luckily, my job is casual dress (jeans and casual top) so I dont have to worry about ironing fancy clothes. As soon as my clothes are done drying I hang most of them up.

some people feel guilty about pre-shredded cheese? hahaha! I've never felt guilt about that. Its convenient and it stays fresh longer in the zippered bag.

....but I am guilty of sliced onions and steam in the bag veggies

Well I'm 26 and I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 18...and I bought it myself! Even though it seems weird for young kids to have cell phones, these days its really not a big deal. Why would you not want your child to have a convenient way of keeping in touch, when they are away from home?

I also don't see the big deal about an iPhone 5. If anything, the mom should have this same contract with his computer. Everything that's restricted on her child's phone can easily be done from a laptop. Why is this particular phone being held in high regard? Its just a smartphone. Welcome to technology.

Like another poster said, if she's gonna have all of these restrictions, it would have been much cheaper to just buy him an iPod Touch.

I really like the surge protector/outlet strip in the drawer. Thats a great idea!! Never thought to do that.

I dont understand the bed in front of the closet/clothes rack. Why not just move the bed to the other wall so you can access your clothes? It looks kind of cluttered.

The mason jars over the sink? Hmmm. People really leave their toothbrushes so exposed like that?

Definitely a Snooze Master, but I set my alarm at least 2 hours before I actually need to wake up! lol I like to hit snooze every 15minutes until Im fully awake. This window gives me time to sleep, gradually wake up, and check my emails/messages on my phone before getting out of bed.

I always thought having a dishwasher was pretty standard in an apartment too. An apartment without a dishwasher is deal breaker for me. I guess Im just spoiled lol. Maybe its a regional thing. I live in the south, and just about every apartment comes with one. The only thing thats usually optional is a washer/dryer.

I'm pretty convinced that Apple sponsors this site lol

Every article caters to Apple products and they are shown throughout various images on this site.

Anyhoo, the iPhone is so delicate that you're kind of forced to place it in some big bulky case. At the end of the, its like, "What's the point?" why should we have to treat a cell phone like a glass egg?

They build them this way to make more money.

oh wow, I have 10! I use each one for different services. One for each social media site and one for each email service, oh and of course work. I don't really notice I have so many because I receive all of my email on my phone in one inbox. I'm surprised some people only have 1!! lol

Ahh! this is one of the reasons I love my Blackberry. When I dont wanna be bothered, I put my phone on "Bedside Mode" and set it to Calls Only.

That way I still get all my notifications, except my phone wont make any noise or blink unless someone calls. I check everything in the morning when I wake up.

I live alone and run my dishwasher once a week. I only run it when its full, so its not wasteful.

And the whole argument, people hand washed dishes years before the dishwasher is invented doesnt really mean anything.

People didnt bathe everyday years before and they still made it lol. Dont you think its wasteful to shower every day? lol

All kidding aside, I still think hand washing dishes just spread germs. I would rather have the dishwasher with its scorching hot water clean my dishes than my germy sponge or scrub brush I used to scrub off old food and chicken residue.

Hand Washing Versus the Dishwasher Real Simple

I've never like the idea of hand washing dishes. There are so many factors to consider.

The sink must be sanitized first because all kinds of things get poured, rinsed, and tossed in there.

Then you have the sponge or brush that you're using to clean the dishes. You clean a plate that had raw chicken on it, then use that same sponge or brush to clean a coffee mug? All while the water isn't even hot enough? Aren't you supposed to use the three-compartment method or a basin?

After hand washing the dishes they must be dried. So you use a used dish cloth to dry everything one by one. Again, a time-waster and germ spreader lol.

Hand washing just seems like a waste of water and time. I just feel like you're spreading germs rather than cleaning.

All you pro- dish hand washers out there, do you wash your clothes by hand too? If not, why?

@ankarli yeah, thats a good question.

I believe it is a Windows thing because all of the MS Office programs still have the floppy disc icon to Save.

I think its a universal symbol for Save now. When you see it, you automatically know what it means.
