Oh my goodness, I am in love with your personal chair in the first photo. It's my favorite of the series.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We're going to go with "Pleasures of Cooking for One" and Alton's "I'm Just Here for the Food 2.0" I'm just as excited as the boyfriend is to have new cookbooks to experiment with!

When we were about 12 and left alone during dinner time for one of the first times my best friend and I set her oven on fire because we tried to bake the frozen pizza on the cardboard disk. Luckily her uncle was the fire chief and saved us with minor embarrassment.

I'm definitely a stress baker. When my senior project for my degree seemed to be falling apart at the seems the night before it was due I couldn't sleep. After I'd done all I could to pull it together I took a step back, went into the tiny kitchen in my college apartment and baked some scone for my professor and classmates, thinking that if I had to subject them to a subpar project I could at least feed them at the same time. It helped me calm down and find confidence in myself again. I passed the course and graduated and will always bake when I feel stressed.

My grandmother made the most amazing no-bake cheesecake. When she died we were all afraid the recipe had too, until my sister found it in Grandma's Bible. But, she refuses to share it. I've even been in the kitchen when she made it and she went so far as to cover all the measuring cups with paper so I couldn't see the amounts of the ingredients!

I've always salted my watermelon and my cantaloupe. On the flip side, I have a great-aunt who swears by sugaring her radishes.

If you actually read the story from The Missourian, you'll see that Sparky's chose to stop making the ice cream on their own, not by order of the health dept. They advised against making more ice cream but in no way forced them to stop, nor did Sparky's get in any sort of trouble for the ice cream.

I have a small, table-top Coleman camping grill that I've used since college. I have it set on a sturdy tray to make it tall enough and it just runs on miniature propane cylinders. While the boyfriend and I would love to upgrade to a full-size grill, it's just not in the budget yet, but for now our tiny grill is just fine for the two of us.

I've done this one all the windows in my small apartment now and I agree with MrsCatbird, the cord was an issue on the first one I did. To remedy that, I just cut a small slit in the fabric and pulled the cord through before gluing and voila, the cord is now on the outside & easy to use instead of awkwardly between the window and the shade.
