That is an excellent tip which we used when planting our tomato plants. Our tomato is now over 5 feet tall. It works! One Minute Tip: How to Grow Your Tomatoes Into Trees Apartment Therapy Videos |

I understand the need to update spaces, and creating a fresher look to the space is fun. I live in an older home and do the balancing act between keeping it fresh and preserving the architecture and craftsmanship. I think you accomplished completely changing the style of this room. It does seem as if the slate was wiped clean. Before & After: A Granny Office Goes Modern |

Reminds me of an early house my husband and I rented where we were able to pull out our bed onto the enclosed front porch in the summer. We had a large blue spruce in the yard that covered most of the view making it a very private space as well as protected from the weather. We used candle light because there was no electricity on the porch and would lie in bed watching fireflies and listening to the crickets, frogs and other night sounds. We still talk about how wonderful that all was. Enjoy yours! Before & After: Pamela's Sleeping Porch Sweet Peach |

I like how you use long horizontal lines in your furniture and cabinets to carry the eye from room to room. So much great natural light from your large windows. I am curious about the painting in your living room...can you share the artist? Matt Makes His Tiny Rental into a Home House Tour |

Congrats to Johnelle and Brian for pulling together their home in 4 months for a house tour. And what a tour de force it is! Everywhere you look you see something that inspires the eye. I love the idea of finding light fixtures that are unique to each room and all together they give your home a one of a kind statement. I hope that we will get to peek again at what you have done with your home somewhere down the road as you settle into your space and accomplish those projects on the list. I'd love to see that! Can we ever find the mac and cheese flavor that transports us back to our childhood? I haven't tried the Martha's yet and it sounds interesting, but I am looking for the flavor of mac and cheese my Grandmother used to make every Friday. Hers was not dry, creamy and bubbly with tomatoes floating on top of all that cheesy goodness. Thanks to all who added their favorites. I will have to try these out and do a mac and cheese taste testing party this fall and decide which one is the go-to favorite. Martha Stewart's Macaroni & Cheese: The Ultimate Recipe? |

This tour made me want to pull out all the stops on doing my own spaces. Love the warm palette and the spots of color. Love the frames, the collectibles, the fireplace, etc. I, too, wanted the photos to go on and on. Beautifully photographed; very light luscious. Well put together; a very welcoming space. This kitchen is a cook's dream with everything in site, oodles of light, work spaces large and well surfaced and an idea center to put together what you have concocted before you lose the method. This space I would name A Cook's Studio, because that is what it calls you to do: create! Kitchen Tour: Piper's Dream-to-Reality Kitchen |

I love the frugality with aesthetics in mind attitude. Certainly keeps the spirit of your grandparents in the home and makes for a lovely kitchen as well. It is a great idea to rethink materials for use, and your ideas do you credit. Thank you for sharing. Before & After: Kitchen Reno on a Near Zero Budget |

I like the tension between the cement and metal architecture and your "pops" of color. Each piece does look like a piece of sculpture in that setting. The primary color contrast of what could have looked very serious and staged makes your home inviting and cheerful. Your artwork collection picks up on that playfulness and adds to the warmth of your home. One thing I would suggest is getting larger stones for the bathroom floor to add to the collection. I love that idea of a stone garden inside the home. Thanks for showing us your place. Beautifully photographed. Praveen's Innovative and Playful Home House Tour |
