BRAVO Mark! This is one of the few NYC apartments on AT that feels like a home! You've done a great job personalizing your place and making it feel lived in and welcome. Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) West Village HomeHouse Tour |

Ahm...um...it's hard to be critical about someone's space, but it is unfinished. It remains a utilitarian space without much personalization. The first commenter had a great suggestion in getting an outdoor rug. You need larger scale and taller plants and accessories. The entire feel of the space remains two dimensional. I love books and I love books in the bedroom. These pictures are great. However, my wife is a germ-o-phone and it's rubbing off on me. I'm thinking mildewy books. Please don't let my iPad replace these books! Books in the Bedroom |

Ditto what Heather said. If you've got the legs, move to the highest floor. Then again, my knees still hurt occassionally from having lived in a fifth floor walk up for four years. The Ups & Downs of Ground Floor vs. Upper Floor Homes |

I thought the same thing. It's one of those ideas that on the surface seems neat, but I would not want chalk dust near my food prep or cooking areas. Perfect For Renters: 6 Blackboard Backsplashes |

Besides #6 and #8, they are all pretty fabulous. Even #8 is just a badly photographed room. The rest of the place may be magnificent. #6 looks plain but again I can't tell if it's the photography and you can't tell the scale and finish of the rest of the home. Always, always buy into the best neighborhood you can afford without overextending yourself. Also, don't buy the nicest house on the block or neighborhood. The nicest house dictates the ceiling on real estate prices in the area. Why buy high? Buy in the middle of the price range for the neighborhood and look for houses with improvement (aka ROI) potential. Hindsight: Before You Bought Your Home |

If you talk to people visiting from Asian or European countries while in San Francisco, you will find that much of the world does compare the romance, beauty and urban-ness of SF to Paris. Gross. There's tons of formaldehyde and other preservatives in the cheap wood that comprises pallets. It is not good for your health to have them around you and especially indoors where the toxins bleed into your living spaces. Pallets In The Home |

For a basement concrete floor, I definitely recommend laminate or wood floor with a soft underlay. Walking on concrete is tough on the joints (at least for someone with some mileage like me). Should We Try To Match Laminate Flooring To Existing Hardwood? Good Questions |

I was only able to read through the first 10 posts or so. That's it. Thank YOU all for convincing me to never ever move. My neighbors are AWESOME.
