Ditto what Heather said. If you've got the legs, move to the highest floor. Then again, my knees still hurt occassionally from having lived in a fifth floor walk up for four years.

Besides #6 and #8, they are all pretty fabulous. Even #8 is just a badly photographed room. The rest of the place may be magnificent. #6 looks plain but again I can't tell if it's the photography and you can't tell the scale and finish of the rest of the home.

Plus, believe it or not, you can't directly compare dollars to dollars even in the super high end. It is and will always be about location, exclusivity (aka supply to demand) and access to amenities at every segment of the housing market. You can't compare a $6M home to a $4M home if they are in completely different states or areas.

If you talk to people visiting from Asian or European countries while in San Francisco, you will find that much of the world does compare the romance, beauty and urban-ness of SF to Paris. Trust me, I was a tour guide for a couple of years and that was a very common topic with my guests.

New Orleans has an entirely different feel altogether and does not remind me of Paris. I'm not saying that in a bad way.

$240 is very inexpensive for a NEW furniture item quality steel and wood piece. You can't directly compare used thrift store items versus a new item that is guaranteed to be in stock.

Are you all seriously that poor? I grew up poor and if I was as poor now as I was then, I wouldn't be able to afford a computer or an internet connection or the coffee to sit at a starbucks.

The after is not only not a significant improvement over the original state, it is not an improvement at all.

I've got a large 9" deep b 30" wide quartz farmhouse sink and my wife loves it. To Miami's Elaine, the advantage over a regular under or overmount sink is that you get more sink area to work with. The sink basin doesn't stop a few inches in from the counter, but extends up to and sometimes an inch or so past the counter's front. It's great for large party cooking and cleanup even in tandem with a dishwasher. This is especially true if you have large cookware like the type needed for seafood stews like gumbo and an indoor boil.
