I just started an indoor container herb garden in my apartment yesterday! A little different than what you want to do but hopefully this will help anyway.

I had been planning a container garden in my head and researching it online for a while, but I couldn't quite decide what I wanted to do. Finally I just went to the local gardening supply and found everything I needed for around $20. Obviously this will vary depending on where you go, but they had a wide variety of planters and seeds. Sometimes its best to just dive in and try it. $20 seemed like a reasonably priced experiment to me, and I have seeds and potting soil left over so if nothing grows I can try again! Good luck!

I love it! When I think about my dream house it always includes a small basement bedroom with two sets of bunk beds so the whole family can visit. These fit the bill perfectly!
