Wow. Yum! This is such an appealing spring/summer treat!

These are cute, but I remember to turn the lights off because I had pretty hard-core training as a kid. It's automatic for me to switch off a light when I leave a room. As an expectant 1st-time mom, I will likely have to go through the same process my mother and grandmother did with me. But by the time my kid grows up, maybe all lighting will be sensory anyway (fingers crossed) -- problem solved!

Definitely underhand, I think it's easier to handle from a sitting position. And I agree with the comment that it cuts down on tp square waste (more squares to spare).

As for lid up or down, I decided the best compromise in a multi-gender household is all lids down. Plus, it does look better that way.

So cute! We'll be doing 2-color in our 1st baby's room as well, a variation on the tried and true green and grey. I'm so excited to see how it turns out! Thanks for the inspiration from others!

Love this design -- clean, eclectic, arty, beautiful colors. All the above mentioned elements are targets for me as my own home evolves. Thanks for sharing.

Oops, I meant, I don't know how this compares to Bittman's recipe without referencing my c-book.

I don't know, without referencing my cookbook, but Bittman also has a fabulous non-corn syrup pecan pie recipe. The recipe also includes the best thing I've ever read about CS. Taste it on it's own. Does it taste good? No, it's really bad. I don't know how it creates the sweet in foods, and based on how it tastes on its own, I don't really want to know. I'm good with sugar.

Gorgeous. This is my dream kitchen too, though with some different finishes. One day...

The U.S. is the only place in the world I've been where taking off shoes indoors is not automatic. When I lived overseas, and whenever I've traveled, hosts have always had slippers to offer. Our guests are usually nice enough to offer to take off their shoes, of course I realize this is a far more tempting prospect in the summer. Last winter I hosted a bridal shower at my house and had guests from all over the country (as in, their backgrounds and sensibilities were much different from my own). I did not ask anyone to remove their shoes, and spent much of the night cringing at the site of stilettos on my hardwoods. Perhaps I really should invest in a healthy supply of house slippers, and use the tips offered to politely request a shoe-free environment.

The Original Pancake House! Yes, yes, yes! We used to go there before school on special days. Always a treat. Their chocolate chip pancakes were pretty flippin' tasty too. Thanks for the recipe.

Is the wall color a pale yellow, or is that the lighting? If it is yellow, can you tell me the paint color? Thanks!

I think the point made before the list of "how to privatize" says it best, as does D. Ventriloquist. I have trouble understanding why in the world those kinds of pics would be on your phone at all. Especially if you know yourself to be a target for such attacks.

Another vote for Simple Human! Maybe AT feels they get too much attention? I love our compact rack, especially since it allows me to make sure my butcher block countertops (not my choice) are free of standing water.

I went to Vij's on my first trip to Vancouver in March. The food is incredible, and the atmosphere is so welcoming! I might have to buy this book.

I spent a couple of hours wandering around Sirince on my first visit to Turkey, and I thought I had found heaven. I ate lunch at a vine-shaded restaurant there, whose sweet owner took me by the hand into her kitchen to show me the lovely stuffed peppers she had cooking on the stove to help me understand what I had ordered (she spoke no English). I will never forget that lunch, or that woman, or that beautiful town.

Oh, yum! Reminds me of my days living in Sunset Park, Bkln, where they grill corn in grocery carts on the street & slather it with all that yumminess. I've also had a similar treat in a cup @ Mr. Corn in Laredo, TX. Ahhh.

I really like msfraust's recipe too. Will have to try at home.

And, if you don't have a grill DailyInspiration, boil it!
