My grandmother uses the same Settlement Cookbook recipe! My whole family loves her old fashioned cheesecake and my father won't eat cheesecake made by anyone else, anywhere. Recipe: Graham Cracker Crusted and Pistachio Flecked Cheese Torte |

My roommate and I made scallion pancakes using that recipe for our big Chinese New Year party last year and they were a huge hit, just like in the restaurants here in NYC Chinatown. What Recipes Do You Want to Try This Month? January 2010 | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

just made this, no fishy smell in my kitchen, just yummy aromatics! Cooked in exactly the same amount of time as the couscous I did to go with it. Start to finish, with vegetable prep wasn't much more than 20 or 25 min. Definitely making this style recipe again Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Recipe: Halibut, Spinach, and Tomatoes in Foil Packets |

My grandmother makes a gigantic Baked Alaska for Thanksgiving dessert every year. Gigantic meaning she uses the stainless steel bowl from her KitchenAid mixer to shape the ice cream. Totally beats pumpkin pie. (Although she makes that too, for tradition's sake.) This is a spectacular dessert and a miracle of food science. The wallpaper in the dining room is so amazing! I would never think to mix white walls, silver-ish chairs and an oak table like that but it's great. Inspiring space. If only I could get rid of all my stuff and have that kind of serentiy in the home. #2 - Aad's Homage To His Old Dwelling |
