@kwp-DC, we had our old cleaning lady only clean the bathrooms (5 of them) and vacuum the house for $85! So less than $20 a bathroom. You might be able to find someone who owns their own business who is willing to do this. Your Biggest & Smallest Bathroom Problems?? 2013 Reader Forum |

We recently renovated the entire house, so in our master bath planning, we attempted to solve nearly every problem listed above. It is huge (16'x10'), has TONS of cabinets, electrical outlets installed INSIDE the cabinets for my husband's electric razor, etc., good fan that vents to the outside (not into the rafters like the previous version), etc. However, we paid a fortune to upgrade the grout to quartz grout because we were told it wouldn't stain. However, in white, it stains! And then it doesn't get clean! Our water is slightly rusty so our grout is a mess and we have to re-grout. I came across this shop a few months ago and was just about to order a sheet set. However, I can't get past the lack of a fitted sheet. Does anyone use a flat sheet as their bottom sheet? Does it need constant readjustment every night? I can't stand my bottom sheet to be loose and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get this flat sheet tight enough. Any experience with this? 0!!! I always defer to my husband on color issues since he is a colorist, but it looks like I am actually the master :) I am female. Take the Test: How Well Do You See Color? |

I also wonder if the owner of the penthouse owns the rights to the property located at the bottom of the shaft. Otherwise, they might have to deal with curious people looking up the shaft (if there is a doorway or something located at the bottom of the shaft). A Pattern Language - we had to do an entire project based upon parts of this book in second year studio in architecture school. I will never be able to look at that book again. It makes my stomach turn just thinking about it. The 8 Books Every Home Decorator Should Own |

I would definitely do it. We currently live in a one story house and I love knowing that if something should happen, we won't have to move or alter our house. With that many floors, by adding an elevator, you ensure that you can continue to live in your house for the rest of your life! If you have the money and it won't be a burden, I would definitely do it. Home Elevator, Yea or Nay? Good Questions |

Your place is utterly amazing. I love the kids' room. I am looking for ideas for incorporating a future baby and my son into one space. Nancy, Ethan, & Ohle's 1903 Cabin in the Country House Tour |

I love it in moderation. I always thought that my style was strictly MCM, but I've found that I prefer spaces that incorporate just a few MCM pieces while mixing them with other styles. Too many MCM pieces looks uncomfortable to me. Poll: What Do You Love Most about Mid-Century Modernism? |

My goodness, reading the original blog post was exhausting. I can't imagine trying to incorporate the millions of different ideas she has while taking care of a newborn. If there is one thing I've learned, is that my child will do something when he is ready to do it! No extra work required :) As long as he has lots of love and attention, lots of spoken words at home, access to books, and room to play, he'll turn out okay. I do like the floor bed idea, but unfortunately we have a spider problem in our home so can't incorporate that. Finnian's Montessori Room |

Looks like this would be a nightmare to attempt to clean! I would never feel like my house was clean with all that stuff all over the place. I'm not even sure how you would vacuum without spending half the day moving stuff around. Good luck with your move! Daniel & Mercedes' Midcentury Meets Industrial Loft House Tour |

@ZHahira, it is actually not that complicated. There is empty space between studs, so as long as you have an opening, you can run the wires down the wall in between the studs. Before & After: The Goodbye to Matchy-Matchy Makeover Real Simple |

LOVE this tour. We also bought a run-down mid-century ranch and renovated it (but kept it one story). We will also hopefully have a couple kids sharing a room in the next few years, so I love the ideas you have in your kids' rooms! I discovered lots of ideas from your tour! Wow, this house is utter perfection. I love every single thing about it. Well, except for the size - this is too small for my family of three, but perfect for one person! But really, really gorgeous.
