After living in dorms, I like the idea of being able to spread out. That said, I live a life where I really don't get to spend all that much time at home, and I did end up putting computers and alarms in pretty much every room. I don't know if I'd have ever considered it weird without seeing this post.

Change It Up: Moving Small Appliances to Unexpected Rooms

Doubtless, one of my dorm rooms (I lived in seven different ones, three singles, three doubles, and a triple) would count as the smallest, but I had a lot of reasons to not be "home" during undergrad and grad school. My smallest apartment was 900 square feet for four of us. I keep trying to live smaller, but I don't have the discipline to cull my clothes or books, and I can't ethically get rid of my dvd or cd collections.

more space at a cheaper per month cost than a mortgage (though, we lose some tax benefits for renting, in this state).
free heat, water, snow removal.
two garage spaces (in a city where one car garages are the norm)
basement storage
walkable neighborhood

I know not nearly enough engineers who could afford that. I am still astounded.

oh god, the Ann Arbor one. (As I will say to my wife later today when I show her this, "Yes, yes, yes!")

My Bahamas vacation in 2008 was the last time. Since then, my bosses (lawyers and sales people) have had no respect for personal time, and I can't do more than a weekend, even though I wish I could.

I've long been a big fan of Ultimate Ears. The high end sets are fantastic, though also fantastically expensive. I wouldn't ever go jogging with my Super.5s, but when I don't want to disturb my wife and want great clarity, they're fantastic around my house.

The Rodelle image is a fantastic bedroom set up. Especially love the open closet. Wish I could trick my wife into that, but open doors make her paranoid while she sleeps.

@lazylurker: I used to do the same thing because 1) i wanted to preserve my perfect attendance in high school, because there was pizza involved and 2) the time before classes started was the only chance i had at school to hit on a girl who wasn't in any of my honor's classes.

my boss is convinced he can buy tablets to replace the laptops of people in the field, but as one of the guys in the office who has to use rendering and CAD software, I don't see it ever happening. there's no reasonable way to get the power he (and apparently others in his demographic) is expecting and maintain the battery life that makes tablets more delightful for travel.

I lived cable free for about three years, but my wife is unwilling to let go of cable. Even though I love having ESPN and the Big Ten network, I could pretty easily go to the bar for every game I want to see for less than it costs us to have access to shows about cupcakes available every hour of the day.

I fully want a windows phone, and kind of wish they had been better when i was due for my last upgrade. then again, i'm also willing to carry an mp3 player so i don't have to worry about watching movies or listening to music on my phone most of the time.

Seamless web has long depressed me, because I remember what life in a law firm is like. Everything else is much less depressing, particularly as you showed us applications rather than just products.

much to the chagrin of my wife, I tend to keep my to do list on my bathroom mirror in dry erase ink. it's impossible to act on most things while i'm starting my day, but it reminds me every day if i have some sort of deadline, whether at home or business. digital lists are nice, but she already is annoyed with the frequency I check my phone and computers when we're at home simultaneously for such a brief amount of time each day.
