To answer your question - No. It does not make sense. I think this sounds like a great idea for light to mid-weight pieces, so I'm not arguing that. I'm sure it works great. But your explanation of WHY it works makes no sense. When you say "If for any reason it did break, nothing would happen. The piece would still hang from the bottom of the soda pop tab itself and stay put".... what do you mean? If the tab were to break anywhere (either at the top where it's resting on the nail in the wall, or at the bottom where it's screwed into the artwork) the piece is still going to fall. LADYPHLOGISTON has it right - the tab is still bearing the entire weight of the piece, so of course there's stress on it. Tried & Tested: Hanging Art with Soda Pop Tabs |

i just wonder, if you happen to set your drink down like most do... wouldn't the drink dissolve the cup? and probably not in that much time, either. it's a cute idea tho! i wonder what the taste and texture is like.... Jelloware Edible Cups (P.S. They're Vegan!) |

this sounds kind of gross and uncomfortable. the first thing i thought when i saw the photo was "wouldn't you just start drooling??". apparently so. plus it must make one look like a doofus, not worth it to me. i wear contacts too but have always felt the effects of stinging and watery eyes while chopping onions, so i wish they had the same preventative effect for me as they do for you! @ QueenOfTheFall - not a lot more, only the 15-20 mins it takes to brown the pork. everything else is done while that's happening. Dinner Recipe: Slow Cooker Coconut & Green Curry Pork |
