You forgot the most important step, check the load capacity of the desk. This is key.

Tips For Setting Up An All Glass Desk

Here's a few tips.

Zoom lenses are horrible for video unless you have a tripod and a remote trigger. Any movement will make your video look like it was shot by a 5 year old.

Instead use a wide angle lens. The 50mm is the de facto lens for shooting video. It's not wide but with an aperture ranging from 1.2-1.8 you can get that high depth of field seen in pro level video. A 10-22mm lens will give you infinite focus and you can easily run and gun without having to focus the entirety of the shot.

Also understand that you can only record for about 12 minutes at a time, if you need longer recording time then a dSLR is not for you.

This article is full of typos and even an unfinished paragraph fyi.

I'm sorry but that's not a monitor stand, it's clearly a Lacie porsche drive.

Don't sit at a big table and plop your Macbook down with your printer, and then huge purse. Also keep your cell phone in your pocket, if you need to make a call step outside. If you have too much stuff to quickly step outside and take a call you brought too much stuff.

Why do these people put their heavy displays on their hard drives? Sigh.

Also a shared contacts list is absent from Google Sync. You need to pay a third party around $300 per thousand contacts for this ability and it's buggy at best.

Oh god that poor hard drive wedged under that display.

As someone with a new mac mini and terabytes of video this is an awesome setup. 1080p with bluray, netflix, vudu, hulu, or any video delivery system you can think of comes at a cost. This cost for the most part is the UGLY UI attached. With a mac mini and plex you suddenly have the most beautiful media center that even your parents can use.

And if you're on a mac you'll want to look into converting DTS to AC3, something I pioneered in 09. It's annoying but MKVDTS2AC3 saves lives.

So let me get this straight, even though the Boxee Box plays high bitrate MKV ripped from Blurays you still don't suggest it because $200 is too expensive? Are you just too cheap or did you spend too much money on gaming consoles?

I don't get it. Wireless HDMI has nothing to do with the BoxeeBox. Sure, some Bluray players have the ability to stream netflix but what about Hulu, Comedy Central, Vudu, AND play high bitrate 1080p h264?
