Start by changing the paint color on the walls. It's too close to the tone of the stained wood cabinets. Look for a new color that will get you excited and happy! From there try new dish towels and accessories that use this newly introduced color to its best advantage (look for some patterns). I personally would be feeling some bright citrus colors or maybe intense azure blue.
