On taco nights, I like to make a super easy bean chili as a sidedish. Just pour canned black beans, tomatoes and corn in a pot, and season with spices and jalapenos to your taste. It takes all of two minutes to put together, and it's really tasty. Plus black beans are really good for you, so it's a healthy choice.

I saw my old apartment listed on Craigslist the other day - the landlord made it look way better than it was. But I guess perpetual bad smells can't be photographed...

I once spread vaseline all over my bedroom as a child so any trespassing spiders would walk across it and be trapped in the goo. I was too young to be forced to clean it up, but that was a bad mess.

Ooh, ooh! How do I maximize food production on a 10x10' community garden plot? We'd like to get as much of our produce from the plot instead of relying on overpriced waxy stuff at the store.

..and I would make carnitas. Viva pig!

For fans of Russian food and literature, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov contains multiple descriptions of Russian delicacies, including a spread of fish, sausages, and of course vodka at the local artists' and writers' hangout, Griboyedov. The walking, talking cat craves a snack of pickles and icy vodka. Then the female lead character later turns into a witch, flying nude over the city on a broomstick, to serve as hostess at the devil's midnight ball. It's an awesome book.

That vase would go perfectly with my collection of things my cat will inevitably knock over... but I would love to have it, anyways!

Here's hoping the broken futon couch and paint splattered TV tables will soon be on their way out...
