@fancyd, my favorite party is the skin as well, but gnnej is right. Traditionally, they are supposed to have a thin skin. The point is to make a little seat for the filling, having the skin thicker in the middle, and thin on the edges. When you roll these out, you actually use a rolling pin and roll inwards!
