I hear what you're saying, but fall in Florida isn't bad, it's just different. My favorite part is how much longer the sun is out down here than it is up north. Go watch the sunset on the beach and breathe in how much higher the sky is and how much less claustrophobic the clouds are. Revel in how much more moisturized your skin is because of the humidity. Go for a run at 6pm in October and come home while there's still pink in the sky, while your poor friends back north have been in the pitch dark for an hour already. Florida will never have the clearly demarcated seasons that the midwest does, but fall here really isn't half bad! How To "Fake" the Fall Season in Florida? Good Questions |

Hi--I saw someone comment on a previous "World's Ugliest Condo" about Sarasota. It's only 45 minutes from St Pete, and there are some pretty amazing shops down here. I live in Sarasota (and am 28 years old) and can attest that the Sarasota Architectural Salvage store (sarasotasalvage.com) is awesome. They have everything from fixtures to chair legs to fully built pieces of furniture to mantels, you name it. I don't own my own place, but I've been lusting after their fleur-de-lis cast iron hooks.
