Thank you!

Wende - it's really, really easy. If you can sew at all, even a tiny bit, you can make this quilt. It's from a pattern called "Turning Twenty" and just requires 20 fat quarters. Really simple, promise! I had it ready for binding in a couple of days.

I've used cloth wipes for 5 years on 3 different children.

1 peri bottle of plain distilled water
assorted homemade flannel and knit terry cloth wipes.

Ta-dah. Nary a diaper rash to be seen.

I have the Skip Hop Expo but it's kind of narrow at the top and doesn't hold much if you've got more than one tot. I like the Skip Hop Dash much better - not too much more bulk, but easier to get into and find stuff.

Kind of fun to see my photograph on your site. It's such a simple activity that keeps my three kids entertained for a very long time. Tip: if they paint in the shade, the pictures last longer.

That Zewi blanket creeps me out! It looks like a scary potential twist/choke/suffocate hazard. Eep! Love the fabric on that pillow though...

I don't like gdiapers because they still contain the super absorbent polymer that despite big disposable companies saying is safe, I have my doubts. They are also famous for clogging plumbing and destroying septic tanks, so no thanks there.

But then, I'm biased. ;)

We use prefold diapers with snappi fasteners (no pins) and Bummis wraps. Along with Very Basic All in One Diapers from www.tallulahbaby.com that go on just like a disposable and have nothing but 100% cotton or hemp next to baby's skin.

I love that peel and stick chalkboard!

There is no way I'd let my kids play around in absorbent polymer:

It's popular in India too. When I was a pediatric nurse, I remember the little Indian children coming in in their pretty silk outfits, with no undies, no diaper, and a slit in the pants.

I did EC the lazy way. Using cloth diapers, but also paying attention to when my kids had to go. As such, all of them were going #2 on the potty by about 10 months and fully potty learned by about a year to a year and a half. I certainly wasn't strict about it, but did try to be in "tune", none of them seemed to like making messes in their diapers. Made diaper laundry easier for me!

Cloth diapers in a pail (hanging bag or traditional diaper pail) is NOTHING compared to the stench of disposables. Seriously.

Hugeamondo nursing clothing resource here: http://www.kjsl.com/~beanmom/nursing.html

I went nuts on nursing clothes with the first baby. But with the second and third, I just made sure I didn't wear anything that couldn't be yanked up or pulled down.

Oh! Have you guys not featured www.justorganizeyourstuff.com yet? It's a beautiful yet amazingly functional organizing system. It's gorgeous and it works. I love mine. She even has specialized stuff for organizing kid stuff. It's amazing.

Thank you for posting my question! All the suggestions are great.

I agree with jenb75 and disagree with Paullchik. We have leather sofas in our family room and three very active and often messy kids - the leather has been wonderful, it cleans up beautifully.

Neon peach. By mistake. I took the quilt my mother made to the paint shop with me, matched the fabric, and viola, we have a shade of peach I've never heretofore seen.

The photo makes it look down right nice and normal. But it isn't. I'm currently planning to repaint.

I really love this. Are those Flor Carpet tiles?

#2 - Pilar's Plexi Pad

I disagree with jjpp also, I have the exact changing pad just plopped on top of a rescued dresser. I've used it with all three of my children without barriers and without trouble. Nobody has taken a tumble. I'm tall, I'd HATE to change my baby on the floor (or bed) or somewhere else.

nicolej, I don't think that's a shredder, I think it's a printer. Calm yourself. :o)

All of that to say, this room doesn't seem very small! I don't have room for a rocking chair, a table, AND a crib in my nursery... hmmm, maybe I should enter.

Jim, I think the Butt / Face towel is actually pretty funny. These, however are just... EW.

Oh that's so ridiculous - what a lot of psycho babble. The same argument could be applied to parents who lazily let their children watch TV (thereby exposing them to the commercials for said plastic garishness). I know quite a few families who do the natural parenting / TV free thing, and those kids love their wooden Waldorf style cloth toys and are some of the brightest, most imaginative kids I know.

And their parents? Dedicated comes to mind, certainly not "selfish".
