Protective shark/Newfie cage for my cat!
And yes to the dusting.
And to the nephews climbing it.
Why oh why must I have a life full of loved ones instead of a stylish one?

Truenic, these natural deodorants are just that, de-odorizers. Most do little to actually control the wetness factor.
Although the terms are used interchangeably, I think what you're looking for is more in the anti-perspirant category, and so far at least, nobody's come up with a good "natural" solution for that. Most of the deodorants on the market carry the aluminum and other metal salts as their anti-perspirant ingredient. As a result, it's pretty hard to find a mass-market deodorant that is only for odor, and not to control perspiration, anymore (although I can remember in my teen years, both types of products being widely available).
If the wetness is more of your concern, I would just stick with the prescription stuff. Not fun, but it's your best bet for now.

I think the detailing on the sconces would get lost against that wallpaper-- too many scroll-y bits against other scroll-y bits, and the scale is too similar. Since we aren't even going to discuss losing the Adler sconces (NOT an option), I would try maybe larger-scale patterned wallpaper, but in the same colors.
Not that I don't like the wallpaper you've chosen--I do. And the two would look just fine together. But if you''re going to get all spendy on the lighting, I'm guessing it's because you like the detailing on it. It would just be a shame to see it get swallowed up.

The misspelling was originally the photographer's from the website.
But good for you for noticing! Did you happen to notice there were really cool pictures there too?

@tequila red, I have the sneaking suspicion that this is exactly what she has done-- on Apartment Therapy.
Not that I can blame her-- if it ever came to this sad pass for me, I know I would use every "connection" I could call up to get my pets into good, happy homes.
She has my sympathy. And best wishes for a happy outcome-- for all of them.

Funny you should ask! That's the plan for the kitchen cabinet fronts in our new house. Our 1980's-era remodeled kitchen is currently sporting acres of the ubiquitous white-laminate-with-oak-trim cabinetry (haaaate), and it is just begging to be played with. Rather than primary colors, I'm currently working on a palette of 3 or possibly 4 colors that are taken from a favorite teapot. They're all rather pastel-y, however. I'm trying to work out how to keep the colors I want while "pumping them up" a bit so the kitchen doesn't end up looking like the Easter bunny's new baby's nursery.
Thanks for this post-- looking at the layout others have used on similar projects is really helping me with mine.

I prefer the waxed floss for cheese-cutting duties, but if it's going in the oven (ie. tying up a roast), probably best to use unwaxed.
And the "flavored" flosses are good for nothing. Not even flossing. Yuck!
I also discovered one day that it's useful when improvising a pastry piping bag out of plastic wrap because you've only JUST discovered that you've run out of sandwich bags.
Slicing cheesecakes, any delicate pastry, including croissants! They don't seem to crumble as much as with a knife. Yep-- dental floss is at least as useful in the kitchen as in the bathroom.
And during parties, you don't even have to excuse yourself from the kitchen to get that bit of smoked salmon out from between your front teeth ;)

Well, thank YOU for planting that particular brain worm! Here I was, in a new house, miserable with that stupid shower door (and missing having a fun shower curtain like crazy), but not even really thinking about it, because, hey-- what are you gonna do? Never mind the perpetually bruised elbows from accidentally trying to widen the space in there every day. One of those problems your brain just tells you to live with because it can't see that there is an easier alternative to ripping out the entire bathroom & starting over.
And now I know. Bless you!

Terrific redo-- I'm all about the pet hacks. Wait, that didn't come out right...
Or at least I *think* it's terrific-- I see it's time to drag out my semi-annual complaint to AT about their ads overlapping the photos. I can't be the only one this is happening to, am I? It's so intrusive! In this instance, half the dog is covered over in the "after" photo. I can't even see most of the best part of the project! Is it a Mac thing?

My favorite Before & After of all. The finished house is gorgeous, but can I just say the dreaded words-- "I liked the Before better?" Not style-wise, obviously, but because it is such a great "Before" photo-- complete with demo rubble, drywall dust, and what even looks like exposed conduit in the back of the upper room! Haven't clicked through to see the other photos yet-- doing that now.
Love it.

Super duper. Although, on my monitor, this "dark brown" stain reads as more of a dark slatey greeny gray. I would adjust my settings, but I think I like it better that way!
Off I go to the thrift stores with a re-inspired eye for rehab, once again. Thanks!

I (used to) have a potted cactus that was the size of a side table, and about 4ft. high (I used to put in outside in the summer, and then one year... Winter came. Wayyy early. Bye-bye cactus! I am sorry for what I done! :-( ). I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner-- bagless is important here-- that worked beautifully for cleaning the cactus. I had an extra soft brush attachment (is that the drapery/upholstery attachment? I can never remember the right names for them) that was the exclusive attachment of plant vacuuming, so I didn't have to worry about stray needles hitching a ride onto the furnishings. As long as you kept it out of the inside of the pot, at the base of the plant, this was THE solution.
It worked pretty well on some of my more sturdy tropical plants, too, though it did tend to pull the leaves off my Brugmansia. Cactus loved a good hoovering though. I think it was lonely...it was the only contact it got, poor thing.

Also, Urban Outfitters just added some pillows on their website that feature large images of animals (the pillows are actually cut to the shape of the image). I'm not sure they're exactly what you're looking for, but they might be fun to mix in, and they sure are cute!

Mschatelaine, your first post worried me & got me Googling like crazy about this. Thanks for the head's up. We have two big guys that we've used raised dishes for their whole lives- one is 6 and the old guy is almost 10. We got the raised dishes for them originally because wisdom at the time dictated this was helpful in preventing bloat in those breeds that are susceptible-- ours fall under that category. However, I see now (thanks to you) that this is no longer considered a good idea.
The thing is, in our case anyway, although neither dog (time has shown), has actually shown any tendency to bloat, they both now suffer from arthritis in their hips, knees, elbows, and shoulders. The old guy also now suffers from laryngeal paralysis, causing trouble breathing and an increased likelihood of aspirating food & water. All the literature I've read today still endorses raised dishes for help with these conditions.
So to sum up: If it were just a case of wishing to prevent bloat, I would be with you & I would get rid of their raised dishes today. But-- since bloat doesn't seem to be looming on the horizon for us, and we are dealing with joint pain and breathing difficulties right now, today, I'm going to keep them. It's certainly something people should think about when considering raised dishes for their dogs, but I think I'm coming down on the side of not just calling them bad out of hand.

But thank you so much-- again!-- for pointing this out & making me revisit the research. You did your good deed for today-- have a drink on me.

DIY Elevated Dog Feeding Station Made from School Chairs The DIY Village

I think this is great! And yes, I can see the potty chair association, but truthfully, all these elevated feeding stations looked like that to me at first. I just had to get over it. My real problem here is those poor napkin...er... curtains hanging behind the feeding station. Ick!

Also, I had NO idea there was a seating shortage for the people of the world, and these beat up old things were still needed! How distressing... Knowing that, I would much rather these people had just gone to PetSmart and bought an overpriced, Chinese-made, toxic outgassing purpose-built feeding station for their dog. Now THAT's thinkin' green!
