I work with 4heads Governors Island Art Fair (a non-profit, where I run the Arts Education Outreach Program). A great place to see and find great original art for your home, the Fair is FREE to visitors and is going on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September on beautiful Governors Island (thru Sun the 25th.) The Fair features over 120 international artists, working in all sorts of media (drawing, painting, sculpture, video etc) and it is a great place to pick up great finds for your home or apartment while supporting the arts and re-use of both materials and repurposed spaces (as it is held in 5 sections of building 12, the abandoned historical army barracks on the island). Please help us spread the word and join us in supporting the Arts and Arts Communities in NY. Read about us/some reviews: Weekend Meditation: The Value of Handmade |

This is freaking hilarious! I had just been asking Maxwell in his new color posts to let me in on where he got this lovely, simple piece and am so glad he has shared. Although it is definitely out of my price range, it is absolutely ideal for one of my left bank-meets-morrocan-meets-boho-chic rooms - and hopefully I will be able to find something a little more affordable to suit me and my style. Meanwhile, the wildly divided response to this single divan has really cracked me up: its like the whole world has gone insane with their cookie cutter big box store sofas - the same sort of status symbol as their cars have become. It's just a cushy, chic daybed in natural linens - not a creature from outer space, or some unusable/un-sit-on-able avant guard mystery sofa -- OR alternately, a 'ratty' dorm piece or giant, armless (god forbid) cat-bed - ha ha. Oh my goodness - seems like such a silly controversy. Oh well. I can honestly say 'thank you' and I will keep my comments on elements of the room that may not be my personal taste to myself - and commend you on creating a space that you absolutely love that fits your style. I love this color cure segment, I wish there would be more videos featuring different color families - would be really cool to see the different inspirations and results. Also, I am coveting your couch - with its layered linen-covered-looking cushions -- what brand is it, where is it from?? Week 1: Color Families The Color Cure |

This place is making me want to throw up my hands, quit everything (and give up my apt.) in NYC and just runaway to the Cape. I love the area of the Cape your place is in, so beautiful. Not to mention the cranberry bogs, painfully beautiful Hopper-esque light, and those wild scrubby roses. Can I move in, I'll sleep in a drawer. Or on the beach with the lobsters. The funeral parlor furniture is definitely the kicker. I have the same Ikea rug. This post is like Dada poetry... Kiley's "The Bramble" |

Paint colors are really lovely with the eclectic abundance, they are the soothing calm around the storm of fun eye candy. And the Magikist Lips sign gave me such a pang for my childhood in Chicago -- the giant undulating lite-up version fascinated me as a kid (when passing it on the way to, I think, O'Hare Airport. Sigh. Great collection, and great job of curating it all. Rich's Constantly Changing Home |

Where did you get your marvelous two-tone blue curtains? The style lends a little luxury to your neat n' tidy bright space and is a lovely contrast to the buttery yellows. Alyssa's Light & Views |

You got mad thrifting skills, yo! Ok, I am totally jealous -- I don't know what kind of thrift stores they have there in RH, but it puts my locals to shame (unless by "thrifting" you mean 1st Dibs, which, of course, does not count). But please tell me your Greek Key Duvet/Comforter thing-y was not thrifted, b/c I would very much like to know where you got it so I can copy you (the best artist's are thieves). Wonderful entry, thank you! Rashon's Thrifted Treasures |

instead of laying out a whopping $995 for those linen beauties, I bet I could go to Pearl Paint Art Supply store and buy raw linen at a fraction & dye or bleach... would just need to figure out how to soften it and make it non-shrinking for the washer...
