No way- style is style!
Who cares if it's got a stamp/ label or how much it costs if you appreciate it.

Nothing beats a sunny yellow and white home. It would stand out (especially against the cement), ads instant cheer to grey days, and looks ultra crisp and fresh against white trim. =)

Not interested. I prefer to watch a show where the people are more inventive rather than just throw money and quips around. I'm sure there are some pretty cool outcomes, but I've decided to table any programs which glamorize shrill and over-privileged characterizations of what reality is.

Echo the posts about spending as little as possible right now as being a new home owner comes with lots of little expenses that add up quickly which I learned from recent personal experience. While I like the tile, you do have a lot of color/ material/ decades going on. If your going to spend any money, make it the sink and vanity, it's really killing any chance of embracing "a look".
I'd either embrace the tile and go totally retro with some fun 50's patterns and accessories. Or try to neutralize it by going hotel chic with white walls/towels/shower curtain and hits of chrome.
Anyway, congrats on the home!

Well I don't know that it's strange but I have a little ceramic Christmas sleigh with a little plastic Santa (like the kind you'd find on a cupcake back in the day) wedged into the seat that I keep out and prominently display all year round. My crafty Grandma married these two when I was a little girl and it's my "grab in a fire item":)

My experience with Ikea slipcovers are: they are a pain to remove and launder, and with this particular sofa, it's not very comfortable for long stretches of lounging.

I find the graphic simplicity so striking, and I don't know if it's the colors or the lighting, but they rev up the room!

Not sure what book I'd use, probably something by the good Dr. Seuss as his stuff's both bright and trippy to look at:)

I love this post!

I've seen it on here several times and I dream of doing it every time, but alas I have no room in which I could lay tile:(
