Wow! I can't believe how many people are saying that they love the knotty pine look. I wish I could say the same, it'd make house hunting here in Northeast Ohio so much easier for me. That's all that there is here. Old school oak and pine kitchens. Yuck. I'm a modern kinda gal so of course I'm just mortified! You did a great job. Well done. So much better. Can't say enough about how much better it looks! Before & After: Lisa DIY Kitchen Rehab |

Wow, wish I could spend just $15 a week and have enough flowers for my house! $15 in the U.S. only gets you one small, sad bouquet. I agree with using just one kind of flower, makes the bouquet/arrangement look much better when you're not a pro at arranging. Keep It Simple: Single Flower Arrangements |

Wow! That tufting makes all the difference in the world! I would have never thought to do that but it is definitely a great do-it-yourself option. I think most upholsterers would charge way more to do something like that. Before & After: Adding Style to an IKEA Karlstad Sofa |

Oh geez, my roommate and I had one of these in college. It was her mom's old coffee table and we painted it white or something awful like that! It was a really nice table looking back. I'd love to have one now, like the streamlined design of it! Danish Modern Coffee Tables: Trendy but Terrific |

Very nice! Our first house was a ranch that we remodeled ourselves from top to bottom too. It was 70's groovy with popcorn ceilings and textured walls....we lucked out with no shag carpets though. I'd love to see how you arranged the furniture in this room. We are currently looking at homes and lots of them have rooms shaped similar to this. We are looking at homes right now and almost every home we've seen has this same kitchen. Same oak cabinets, flooring and laminate/outdated counter tops. I have been looking around online to see what other people have done to rejuvenate their kitchens on the cheap. Most people seem to paint them white, lay neutral tile or wood and spend the money to replace the counter top. That seems like the way to get the biggest transformation for your buck.
