North America includes Mexico and Central America. There are anteaters in Mexico and Central America. Based on the coloring, that appears to be the common pheasant, also found in North America. Axis are non-native, but after being introduced in Hawaii in 1860, where they have no natural predators, it's estimated that the herd is increasing in number 20-30 percent a year. They can also be found in Texas. You can check all these facts on Wikipedia, and here is the link that shows the extent of North America. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America North American Animals by Keiko BrodeurOn the Wall |

This place made me gasp! I can definitely tell that you are the associate director at an art gallery. You have such an eye for arranging your space, and all the art is incorporated so beautifully. It's inspiring. Amber's Art-Filled Austin Apartment House Tour |

Oh come on people. Maybe four hundred is a lot, but if you aren't spending fifty bucks on beer every weekend and five on coffee every day, you can save up some money. I always spent a bit sprucing up my room in college. Some of those places look like jail cells without some help! A few well placed accessories, some pieces of real furniture, and a nice bedding set make all the difference. Of course you need a little imagination and a certain disregard for rules about holes in the wall.... Dorm Style: Moroccan Inspiration |

I have sooo much artwork - but even though I will always buy another beautiful piece whether or not I have the space, I usually live somewhere awhile before I decide where to hang it.Otherwise I end up moving it all around four or five times like pyrexmaniac. 5 Things to Wait to Buy Until After You've Moved In |

Ditto to booksDOfurnish - Target has some fantastic back to school deals right now, with pretty cute stuff, especially for dorm room style (It isn't like you are investing in permanent furniture here). Also, though I love Ikea, I live a few hours away from the nearest one. Target is a bit more accessible. 10 Dorm Essentials: Under $100 |

Oh come on people - don't be so negative. While I am guessing that most of these places belong to people who have a little more expendable income than I do, even poor students can have style. My husband and I are both in graduate school and we have kids, but I like to think that our space is quite nice for what it. I find that with patient saving and thrifting, and a whole lot of editing, I can make our space look inviting rather than cheap. It doesn't look as good as these places, but I come to APT for inspiration, not a shopping list. Setting Up Home: Student Style from Our House Tours |

Steam cleaning!!! And rugs. I have the same problem....and don't even get me started on old nasty laminate which for some reason landlords are deeply attached to even when you offer to pay for the change yourself... How to Spruce Up Rental's Carpet? Good Questions |

Wow - I love that you had a 'no credit' rule. You have beautiful taste and I love seeing financially savvy choices like the second hand stainless steel appliances. I am totally inspired - for the day that I have a kitchen I am allowed to rehab anyway. Also, I think you've got the perfect amount of color going on right now. I love your blog. And, I also struggle with DIY in a small space, but I think I would just give up if it weren't for seeing the INCREDIBLE things you do in an even smaller space than mine! Daniel's Patched & Painted |

Obviously some people are having a love/hate relationship with the curtains and chair covers, but can I just say major kudos to you for the extremely creative idea of taking a tablecloth and napkins in a print that you liked and integrating them into your space in such interesting way. I want to go tablecloth/curtain shopping right now! Shelby's Lots of Character |

I love "Life in the Fun Lane"! I've followed the blog for a long time. And I also love seeing wasted spaces put to good use. So many people might never realize they had all that extra space beneath the sloped roof. Sometimes you don't need to buy bigger, you just need to be smarter. Unfortunately, it only took about a week to discover every nook and cranny in my small rental. Before & After: Busting Out a New Closet Life in the Fun Lane |

I want your studio! What wonderful natural light. And the barn door DIY coffee table is such a smart way to reuse the older table you don't want on display. I'm impressed by your budget savvy. Mae & Mike's Renovated Factory Loft |
