I've only ever had a pay as you go phone. I don't need the phone for work and never turn it on except when I'm expecting to get a call. I occasionally forget to charge it for weeks at a time. I've just never been a phone person.
As far as tablets go, I'm considering a Kindle Fire primarily because I can get it with Amazon credits and pay nothing for it.

I don't have a smartphone. Heck, I barely have a cellphone (I use a TracFone and it's never on) and I have no intention of getting one, so I will be keeping my camera (was thinking of upgrading it) and my GPS (I run with a Garmin) and my iPod. The desktop has been replaced by a laptop, but I might get one in the future.

I don't think it's an age thing. I'm right on the edge of 'baby boomer' and I hate talking on the phone. Although, I think 'rude' is a little much. I just don't feel the need to communicate with people that much. But I don't feel the need to pick up the phone, either. If I don't answer, I don't want to talk. Simple. Oh, and the cell phone is only for _my_ convenience. My friends know that calling it is a waste of time, as it is never on and I wouldn't know if you left me a message.

I still have a landline and have no intention of getting rid of it. The only cell phone I have is a pay-as-you-go for emergency, otherwise, I rarely use it. I guess I'm really behind the curve. But I had phone use during the big blackout in the Northeast, unlike my cellphone only friends. :-)

I've been using PaperbackSwap for quite a while now and I love it. I'm finally ahead on my credits, which means I don't have the exact same number of books as when I started:-)
It's been very useful for acquiring some hard to find books that I've been looking for forever, as well.
