Like several other commenters, I would highly recommend meetup.com. I was very skeptical at first and expected the events to be full of weirdo shut-ins and introverts. At the beginning, I went to a couple events where I didn't really jive with the groups, but I'm so glad I stuck with it! I've met such an awesome and diverse group of friends through the site, and anyone who is having a hard time making friends should definitely give it a whirl. Chevron. I never seemed to catch the "Keep Calm and Carry On" and "For Like Ever" hatred that runs rampant here on AT, but if I see one more chevron striped wall that commenters gush over, I WILL EXPLODE.
