I LOVE this idea! I think it looks awesome but agree that it's not the greatest idea when it comes to chemicals getting into your food. Like we need another reason for cancer. But so pretty if someone were to produce this in a way that's safer.

I live alone and was so depressed the first Christmas morning I woke up by myself that I found decorating was the only thing that made me feel festive. It really does brighten my day to decorate for the holidays. I usually buy mini pumpkins for Halloween and some autumn-coloured flowers and for Christmas, I put up a wreath, create a centerpiece and decorate a large tree. I've done it every year since I've been alone and it makes me so happy to do it because it just doesn't feel like the holidays without decorations.

I don't bother with Easter though. Sorry, Jesus.

Absolutely love.

One question though: What do you do in the Wisconsin winters with open windows?? Tree trunks can't exactly be removed when they run through the windows.

I steamed my curtains recently and it didn't work so well and the creases weren't nearly as bad as yours! I found my bedroom curtains unwrinkled themselves by being closed often but the living room curtains (which stay open for the most part) won't unwrinkle, steaming et. al. It's driving me crazy!

I'm so tidy that this is a regular, ongoing process for me. I actually cannot function in a messy space so if I didn't do this every day, I'd never get any work done.

I don't know... This kind of seems like another cash grab for companies that they'll soon be convincing people they "need" to have. Have you seen the commercial for laundry machine washer? We're getting kind of ridiculous now, don't you think?

I'd put it in a white IKEA RIBBA frame and place it in a room where you have other purple accents or blue accents that match the text or background. I think it could be a quirky conversation piece that can work if you coordinate it with the room of your choosing correctly. Honestly, I'd hang this in my office right now no problem and it would fit solely because the colours match my pillows and flowers and work well with my gray rug and white furniture.

I did go to this event and it was incredible as always. Apartment Therapy, you should have hired me as your Toronto blogger (applied twice)! I could have done full coverage for the site. :)

Where I live, in a new build condo, the price increases by $1000 for each foot. I paid $50k more to be really high up with an incredible view of our tall landmark, skyscrapers and water. Totally worth every penny.

It costs me $50-$75/month to heat or A/C my 728 sq. ft. place in Canada. I'd probably break that thing before I got my money's worth if I used it nearly as much. Not worth it for me.

I'm currently grappling with this situation on a much, much cheaper scale. Have a Formica table that I love but everyone tells me is absolutely ugly. I got it for $75 on Craigslist and my best friend really wants it. He's offered to trade me one of his new couches that I absolutely love in exchange for the table (both are now valued around $300-$400). The table reminds me of my grandmother and a simpler time in my life and while it's just a thing, I can't seem to let it go as much as I neeeeed the couch (my current one is stained, old and it's just time for an upgrade).

Where I'm from, unless you're a student or just young and broke, you hire movers or force family to help out. There's only so much work people will do for pizza and beer.
