I LOVE the second one! I wish I could read her blog but I don't speak French!

We did a couple recently with a third on the way.

While I love that you mentioned rescues, I always find it irritating when people think small pets are better for apartments. We have a rescue greyhound and he was clean, low maintenance anddelightful when we lived in our condo.

I also think his raw diet helps him to stay sweet smelling: http://www.freshcoatofpaint.ca/2013/02/what-we-have-learned-from-feeding-our.html

I love so many things about this home! Great Toronto style! Too many details to list but the antique photos and skull over the keyboard were just perfect.

I would either make a "green wall" using either succulents or air plants. I think that would be dramatic but I'm not exactly a green thumb and have no idea how much light they need.

It would also be a great wall for built-in shelving (or Ikea hack built-ins) to give you more storage.

I'd nix the small console and go for something with a better scale. A short church pew or reclaimed wood bench may look nice across from a gallery wall...

I love the green runner! It's easier for pets to get up and down the stairs if there's some grip. I actually just made a pinstripe runner for my stairs thanks to a tutorial from Little Green Notebook! http://www.freshcoatofpaint.ca/2013/05/diy-stair-runners-for-barkley.html

Beautiful and stylish reno! We're planning on doing something similar to our bathroom... only with a vintage clawfoot tub which is actually from a house which was built in the same year as our house... 1926!

First of all, this post is lovely and that parakeet picture is lovely.

I honour my grandmother (who was a soapstone artist, rockhound and fossil collector- all hobbies were self taught) whom I was close with and very proud of. I keep her fossils around my home as well as a beautiful soapstone carving of a panther.

She shared her hobbies with me and I remember going "fossil hunting" with her and even learning to carve soapstone.

One day, I hope to try my hand at the soapstone carving. It could be the beginning of a lovely family legacy...

I love the painting in the bedroom. The home looks inviting and playful and I found it touching that you shared some personal details.

The clutter doesn't bother me (it makes it feel real) but I don't love seeing a toilet photographed with the lid up. Other than that, I loved this tour.

Stylish home and couple. I always love pets on furniture and I actually like that they didn't restrict their room layouts to a traditional fireplace focal point. They obviously did what works for them and I love their fun approach.

As for the pillow, it made me laugh. :) What's a little F-Bomb between adults?

I love the geometric mobiles but I always worry they'll collect dust. It's probably just me since I'm afraid of heights and would never clean it.
