I love this book! I usually include it with my baby shower gift & it's always a hit.

It's a small "board book" that's only about $10 at most bookstores.

Where do these wood floor apartments exist? All I've ever had has been that terrible grey carpet that seems to come standard in every apartment.

Anyways, these are all lovely examples! The green kitchen is pretty cute.

The Blue Bell Factory tour is pretty fun. It's in Brenham, TX, about an hour drive NW of Houston.
They have you watch a cheesy video & then take a tour of the factory. It's not very long though. Video & tour took about 30min tops. Plus, free ice cream at the end!

The Texas one could be some sort play on irony/words .A state with "Friendship" for a motto wasn't exactly founded on friendly terms, maybe?
Or maybe it just means that through all the violence we've managed to become the best state. Ever. (Though, as a native Texan, I might be a bit partial)

This is such a clever idea! I would probably leave it open too when I'm not home.

I to do not have a cover for my duvet. It's just so soft & cushy that I couldn't bear covering it. I know it's more wear & tear on it but I'm happy with my cover-less choice.

It's more of an issue with the company, Magic Cabin, using these specific photos. They need show both girls & boys using the same product. Overall, I do think the items are cute. I also think they did well by having them in neutral colors.

Children like to imitate their parents. My mother was upset when my father bought me, a girl, a pink ironing set. However, he did all the ironing, & I would use that set to "pretend iron" next to him. My sister had a boys shaving set & would "pretend shave" with my dad. Kid's are easily amused.

I've always liked a site called Karen's Cookies. I found it a few years ago when I was just beginning to bake. It provides lot's of recipes, how-tos, videos, etc.
The site also had printable practice icing sheet which has been super helpful for me.

Our Thanksgiving about 3yrs ago was nothing but a comedy of errors. My mother didn't read the fine print on the turkey packaging & so we ended up with a limbless turkey. No legs or wings, just one BIG breast.
We bought two frozen pumpkins pies, but instead of putting them in the freezer, they got put in the fridge - and thawed. We had to pour the filling out of the box & back into the pie crust.
The attempt at homemade pecan pie did not go much better. We burned the pie. There was also an attempt at pecan pie tartlets that were so burned & hard they bounced off the tree we chucked them at. The squirrels wouldn't touch them either.
My sister was introducing her now husband to the family at the time too. He said it was one the more interesting Thanksgivings he's had. Overall though, we all ate well & were happy to be together.
