I got very lucky and found my tall, wingbacked chair for $5 at a thrift store sidewalk sale. It's in very good shape and is quite sturdy. I'm just looking to do something creative, as I absolutely despise the musty blue color. It's not like anything I do to it is going to be a financial loss...

I have two trunks in my house. One is an antique. The other, I embellished the top and use it as a coffee table.

Yikes. I wouldn't even want to fork out $50 for the Ikea one. Call me cheap... I'll just keep looking for that curbside/yardsale/thrift shop treasure...

I like to make bath teas! 1 1/2 cups of dry milk, 1/2 a cup of epsom salt, 1/8th cup baking soda, 2 tbsp corn starch makes a basic milk bath. Then from there, I add the herbs of my choice, usually 1/2 cup each. My favorite combo is chamomile flowers, lemongrass, and yerba mate. Then I take the mixture and scoop it into organza bags and tie them shut. I stuff each one pretty full, remembering that the epsom salt and milk will dissolve. I bring one quart of water to a boil, remove it from the heat, add the teabag, and cover it. Steep it for 20 minutes, then add it to the bath. :) Luxurious. And you can adjust the recipe or dump extra epsom salt directly into the bath.

Currently, there is a really sturdy bench with a leather cushion that we found in an alley. It's not really my style, but it matched our old bedframe nicely. However, upon moving, we bought a new bed. So I'm thinking of swapping it out for an old black chest I just found. It's giant, beat up, and antique. Complete with with the wooden interior covered in worn and torn Victorian wallpaper. I think it would look really neat on the old hardwood floor in there...

I'm a nanny, and these would make the most AMAZING gift for the children I take care of. They would look so pretty on those 12 foot, white, incredibly bare walls.... *sigh*
