So far in the small cool entries, this is the only one that I have been really inspired and impressed by. Compartmentalized, yes, but everything looks well thought out and done with intent- not just simply placed. To me, a perfect example of the difference between design and dorm. Thanks for posting this collection. We often see "light" and "airy" and essentially white bedrooms. I agree that they look clean and serene in photos, but in person I think I prefer a dark, cozy, kinda sexy place to sleep. Add Some Dark Drama to the Bedroom |

Your home is so beautiful. I understand what it means to have a list a mile long of things you want to accomplish, but to have no other choice but be patient. And I really think it does turn out better in the end- yours certainly did. I haven't seen a space on AT that I have felt such an affinity with in a while (you know, they may be incredibly beautiful but aren't your version of "home"?). It takes courage, so thank you for posting it! Leah & Rich's Evolving Patina House Tour |

I like the ceiling in the kitchen. Is that odd? All that stuff, so much to look at, and all I can see is the kitchen ceiling. Tommy & Todd's Bohemian Chic Collection House Tour |

Is it just me or is the middle section (where the text is) skinnier to allow larger ad space? The little spot in the middle for actual writing and pictures feel claustrophobic now. Welcome to the New Apartment Therapy! |

I think that this is beautiful. There are a ton of great examples of good design from this loft (use and consistency of color, use of space, use of lighting, lack of window treatments) that could be readily applied to other spaces. And the pictures may be austere and touched up, but considering that they are real estate photos, I didn't find it strange at all. Amy's Pearl District Remodel House Call |

Calling it a "chest of drawers" isn't going to hide the fact that its another dresser makeover. AT should have a "dresser makeover month" so we can just get them all over with at once. Before & After: A Chest of Drawers Gets Paper Sourced Fine Diving |

Thank god you didn't paint it. I don't mind the look of painted dressers et al, its just I'm so. sick. of seeing the before and afters. This is at least original, and I'm sure in the right space (something slightly craftsman-y perhaps?) it would be pretty cool. If my kitchen looked like that cute little thing, I wouldn't mind if my fridge had to hide in the bathroom. And I say this as a person who cooks AT LEAST once a day. I have seen huge kitchens with all the best materials that don't have half the amount of charm as that one does. Small Space Solutions: IKEA's Idea-Packed Videos |

This is awesome. Its sleek and not too cluttered (usually I am drawn to cluttered, actually) and there are so many things I just want to go up to and touch. I really wish there were more pictures, I feel like we barely saw the house. Doryn's Glamorous Return to the City House Tour |

I think one of the most obvious results of so much online sharing (whether this is good or bad) is that its pretty easy to use the work of other's for inspiration- and pretty difficult to be the first to do anything. Crystal, I think that if you were going to pick an example of wise space planning and creative DIY's, you couldn't do better than the YHL. And I think its great that you mentioned them and filled them in as well, I'm sure they were flattered. So thanks for letting us know- that was the exactly the part I was curious about. My fiancee's folks have one. Its pretty hilarious. They put theirs in their stairwell, where there is a landing, and it is surrounded by a gallery of sweet and funny photos from family trips- including photo of when the fish was caught. Its a nice place to pause and browse some memories, and since the fish isn't alone on the wall, its less, well, "giant fish on the wall." Displaying Trophies: Finding a Spot for The Mounted Fish |
