Michelle - thank you for your feedback on our comments and for realizing no one was trying to be rude or mean. Good luck to you and your family in your home!

Queen Carmelita - Your comment is the reason I dislike this site so much now. I made a comment that was really meant to encourage design discussions. I am not "Jealous" of their space nor should you be. I was just wondering why nursery's and yes, even some kid's rooms are now the new "show space" for Mommy and Daddy.
Yes I would clean before a shoot, heck I clean whether people come over or not. I even said that I was aware that every submitter shows their house at their best. I did not slam her style or her choices. I usually choose not to ever say anything since this site no longer seems to encourage good dialogue. Just a "you better like it and say only good things or you are mean" attitude and quite frankly that is not how the world works.

MsDonnaGirl - I know things have their place and when our toddler is done for the day we put it away. And I am not a messy home owner either if that is what you are implying. What I am saying, in a world of constant artifice, it would be nice to see a home that actually has a nursery that is not styled so high end it looks like the kid will get in trouble if they move something.

jonnifer - not toys strewn about, but there are none to ever really be seen and it is sort of sad.
Of course there is nothing wrong with no messes, but now and then I want to see spaces lived in and not styled is all. :)

As someone who is not a huge fan of MCM, this is a fantastic change in layout and I even like the colors and furniture used.

TSPD - I also thought stoves and dishwashers could not be next to one another.

I love the mudroom it is my favorite space on this tour. Also, the kitty rocks. :)

While the nursery is gorgeous, I am going to get heat for this I know, I just cannot believe how obsessive we have all become making a baby/child/teens room no longer look like a baby/child/teens room. I long for a tour where there is a small mess of toys and maybe even posters on the wall. I know for photo shoots every submitter shows us the best their house can look, but can't we get some "real life" shots now and then? Okay, commence the pie throwing.

That bookshelf wall is what nails it for me. I find curtains to be such a pain in the ass in the sense that whatever I like always costs more than I want to spend. I have gone to roman shades to sort of let whatever else is in the room shine so I agree with a few other commenters that perhaps the curtains can be let go in the living room? Otherwise, this place is really great.

That vintage vanity alone would make me giddy. I love shopping from other rooms, but like another poster asked, what does one do when the other rooms looked naked after said spree?

I really like the bathroom with the Frida poster and the unique touches throughout the home. For some reason it made me smile to see a full laundry basket. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that it's an unstaged photo shoot on a design site. What a nice change. I LOVE THAT CAT!!! Puppy is cute too, but that chill cat is choice.

I would like one wall of a cabinets and a pantry and then another wall free of uppers and have windows or artwork. There are so many smart design ideas now, like pull out drawers that hold dishes, that tall or short, we can have what works best for us. A friend who is over six feet tall, heightened his counter top cook space so he would not feel he was bending over. It is a little too high for me, I am only 5'2,but it works beautifully for him.

I love the loft space and the area the kids can play and create in. While I don't care for the sleeping area, the kids dig them and that is all that matters.

Not for nothing, tone sometimes comes across poorly in posts or emails. And I am sure, in some cases, a few people just type from the hip. This is a design site, critiquing will happen. Just as if we were in an interior design class, not everyone will like what they see and will state why or even ask further questions.
I am wholly against removing "negative" comments because they can start a good discussion and/or give the owner of said space chances to explain design decisions in case it is not covered in actual post. Sure we won't like the random obvious snarky comment, but those should be bypassed and ignored or can be answered gracefully.

Miller8786 - I was going to say, I will take seeing a silverfish any day over a house centipede. Those long, furry looking legs, GACK!!!, HC creep me out but, I have learned to leave them alive in our house, or throw them outside from time to time, because they eat termites, roaches and everyone's enemy here, the silverfish!

Pretty neat solution, but as someone who is 5'2, I would hate to have to pull a step stool out a lot of the time. Still, it really looks good and I think the kitty approves as well.

My goodness they have done a beautiful job decorating and furnishing the home and in a style I do not normally dig. Also, that back yard space is just so inviting.
I honestly think it is hilarious that they feel the city's fire hydrant is an embarrassment, but I think it would be even better if they painted it to match their front door. :)
