If I'm having trouble letting go of certain items of clothing (or any type of item) that I know I don't need any more, I force myself to put them in a bag that I keep in the trunk of my car. I tell myself that if I *really* miss anything, I can take it out of the trunk and put it back in my closet. But inevitably, a few weeks later, I can't remember what I put in the bag and I haven't missed the contents one bit! And then I can drive over to my nearest clothing donation spot and give the clothes to someone who will appreciate them.

I made these this weekend! I had one fresh out of the oven and it was just so-so. But I had one for lunch the next day (thawed from frozen to room temperature) and it was delicious! I think giving the flavors a day to blend made all the difference (and maybe eating it at room temp rather than hot made a difference too?). I will definitely be adding this recipe to my repertoire of frozen lunches.

Ugh, I am experiencing this right now. I'm the too loud upstairs neighbor. Trouble is, I'm really not loud at all ... rather, my neighbor has the unrealistic expectation that she should never hear a SOUND coming from my apartment. Downstairs neighbors, while I think you're entitled to expect consideration from your upstairs neighbors, you're not entitled to complete silence (and the reverse is true as well, of course). I make every effort to be as quiet and considerate as possible. Despite this, every time I walk into my bedroom, drop something accidentally, or turn on my television (which is never any time after 9:30pm as this is when I go to bed almost every night!!!), this horrible woman pounds on her ceiling or swears at me. She wrote a letter to the landlord complaining about me, but has not once come upstairs to have a civil conversation with me. Honestly, she has been so rude to me at this point that I find myself *hoping* that I'm bothering her since she's made it basically unbearable for me to be home. After all of my whinging, my advice is that if you're being disturbed by a neighbor, while it might be awkward and unpleasant, at least try to discuss it with them in a civil manner. As they say, it's easier to catch flies with honey than with vinegar.

Love the mirror next to the dining table! Along with the color strategy you've used to delineate you living and sleeping areas, I think the mirror placement has done a fantastic job at delineating a dining space. I think I might have to steal that idea!

I'm with bostontom. If you're really going to be doing a full reno in a year, save your $$$ and put it all into something that won't be going away in a year.

@wmjr, I agree with hooksies, what a crab! What's the point of posting completely unconstructive negativity? How about a constructive suggestion for improvement?

I was obsessed with Jeannie Bueller's bedroom! I was terribly jealous that she had a phone IN HER ROOM.

This is indeed a beautiful house. However, I still far prefer the House Tours that demonstrate what us run-of-the-mill non-millionaires can do with creativity, personality, and and a little elbow grease.

I love this kitchen! I'm curious about your experience with the West Elm table ... I recently ordered the same one and promptly sent it back because I didn't think the finish would hold up well (and I don't have kids!).

I have several neighbors who were apparently raised by packs of wild dogs. They have "no junk mail" signs on their mailboxes, and then when they get junk mail, they just toss it on the floor in the lobby. They use the front stoop/lawn as an ashtray. As if it's not bad enough that I can't keep my windows open when they're right outside my window sucking on their cancer sticks. Obviously, you smoke outside so as not to nastify your own place - why do you think it's OK to reek up mine? They leave their stinky trash out in the hall all night because it's too smelly to be inside their apartment. They let their non-resident boyfriends park their 16-foot-long pickup trucks in the resident-only parking lot. They can't take three seconds to collapse their large boxes and put them in the recycling bins so they just leave them lying around the parking lot. Actually, I'd welcome packs of wild dogs to my building if they'd replace these inconsiderate bozos.
