These are fantastic. Interesting that almost all of the photos have a thermos. I haven't used a thermos for lunch since I was in elementary school. Maybe it's time to bring it back! I especially like #3 (the bandanas in particular), and #4 (squatting cowboys!).

@Kalexander: "My husband Chris caught the Dolphin fish hanging over the crib in Bermuda 24 years ago. It's been hanging in his parents' house in his original bedroom so we reclaimed it and put it here. Don't worry, it's secured very tightly and expertly!"

Yes, it must be washed out when used as a hair conditioner. I learned this the hard way, and ended up looking like Ke$ha for the day ;)

I bundled up and went for a walk today. It was 20 degrees, but getting sun and fresh air was lovely. I collected a few dried up hydrangea flowers (not the whole bloom, just a single twig with petals), and some red berries on branches to put in my office. A reminder of the beauty that exists in winter.

I am always worried about my dogs getting into the slow cooker, too. I've considered just putting it in another room that I can close the door (bedroom?), but somehow cooking food in the bedroom seems strange.

I got my LeCreuset dutch oven at TJMaxx/HomeGoods for $40 about 5 years ago. I can't imagine life without it ;)

The pink office is so surprising, in a really good way! I love pink, but am afraid of it looking too cutesy. Beautiful done.

Google "Trash the Dress". A lot of photographers do this. I love the idea, but couldn't bear the thought of *my* wedding dress filthy. (What would my mother think??) But the photographs really do turn out beautiful.

I LOVE my Sound Oasis machine. I've had it for almost 2 years, and let it run all night every night, and it is still going strong. I leave it on the white noise setting, because I like the consistent noise, rather than waiting for a wave to roll in! Got it off Amazon for $50. Worth every penny.

I had this problem at my last apartment (who designs these places anyways??). My solution was a little free standing cabinet my grandmother had given me, that has tiny drawers, and 2 deep pockets on either side. I used one drawer for spoons, 1 for forks, 1 for knives, and put bigger utensils in the side pockets. Try checking out an antique or thrift store for something similar. One issue was that guests could never find where we were hiding the silverware!

I recently found in the woods near my house, stumps that had been chewed up by beavers for their dam. They are about 6 inches in diameter and come up to a point, from the gnawing. They look really neat, but not sure what I could do with them. Any creative ideas?
