All of the previously stated things are so on point with so many of us today. I also love dawnie's idea on showing the real side of everyone's life in the moment. I have a question for AT readers. Everyone wants there home to be a welcoming place for guest, but how do you handle it when guest & their kids completely disrespect your home and the things you've worked hard to acquire ? I don't have that my home is a shrine mentality. I'm talking common sense and courtesy .

My kids are grown now, but I still remember getting up with my husband going out for the most wanted and hard to find toy of the season. Then coming home and pulling out all the containers from Thanksgiving. Hiding our stash and going over our list. Forgetting the crowds and the mad rush this was our thing for years. Online shopping is great but those days were the best.

Katie I'm loving this bedding also. Is anyone out there familiar with this kind of bedding? Is it really hot? Would love to learn more about this style.

This is such a beautiful and important post. It makes you thankful and appreciative at the same time. For some people who salivate through all the interior home shows and magazines and stress to attain what is not the everyday norm. This article lets you know you can have what is your idea of a quaint and beautiful lfull of love home.

As the owner of one such kitchen. I dare to say that this is the most functionally designed kitchen in the world. I love my galley kitchen.
When I see these beautiful huge kitchens I think"what in the heck are they storing in all those cabinets and how it must be a pain the the a** to keep clean". When done right galley kitchens rule.

I mean this in a good way when I say "this house makes me think someone opened up a pack of skittles and just threw all over and they just landed where ever and on what ever".
BUT IT WORKED OUT SO WELL, FUN FUN FUN!

Houses are just buildings, until you start to build memories with your love ones. As an middle aged woman I thank god every day for my memories. I 've tried over the last thirty years to build traditions and memories for my girls. There's nothing better when you get a certain age because at some point that's all you have left of your dearly departed ones and of the things you can no longer do. So everyone continue to build on or start your own new memories.

I lovethe way the faucet is set of to the right in the powder room also. Never thought about doing it that way. (hmmm!)

After evacuating for Katrina and becoming a renter for a while. I will never again live where the comings and goings aren't monitored in some form. (i.e. guard or scan system or password controlled).
