Along the lines of what robyn said, I once heard to use a thumbtack to make a tiny hole in the wider, bottom part of the egg. That's where the air pocket is, and if you puncture that, the sulfuric gases are released, thus avoiding the weird greyish color on the yolk! Not to worry, none of the egg comes out while cooking.
