Call the housing preservation departments (311) to report this issue since the landlord isn't taking care of it. Then start documenting the issue. Take pictures, write down when you have seen mice, etc. If the city takes too long to get to your complaint (it took at least two to three months for them to come inspect my apartment) hire an exterminator out of your own pocket and make their report available to your landlord. In the meantime, do not allow your landlord to be lax about this issue, I would call every day until it is dealt with. You have rights as a renter and I would exercise them as best you can.

I have been making these bean salads all summer that are really filling, very satisfying, and last me almost all week. All it is is a can of garbanzo beans, a can of black beans, plus anything else you want to throw in there. I do mango, cucumber, cilantro, hot sauce, a little salt, some kale and red onion, plus corn. the best part about this is that you can constantly change every single ingredient up - even the type of beans.

Wondering how this would work as a casserole? I'd love to just make a big dish of this that I can freeze and reheat as portions or to feed a big crowd. Is there anyway to just bake all together without the initial prep (besides the onion and sausage browning together).
