I'm also moving across the country soon--NY to Minnesota--and wondering about my options. Has anyone tried one of those companies that deliver a big crate to your street corner which you pack yourself and then they move it for you? Is it practical in New York? We pay our super $50 to install ours each year--we've known him forever and he won't accept more; the going rate might be higher elsewhere--and I like going through him because if you have someone in management do it, you won't have to worry about regulations being violated!
