Is it just terrible that I wish I had a teeny tiny home just so I had the need for a loft bed? I currently have a 2 bedroom (3 if you count the "office") townhouse, and practicality dictates that I have 2 bedrooms, and no need for a loft. So sad.

I fear I will never master the art of mixing patterns. My windows are bare because mixing my dove grey trellis duvet with any window treatment worries me. That said, I love love love your patterns!

I love those! I am always trying to think of alternatives to granite, which honestly I think is overrated.

I've never been faced with an actual fire, but in college, I was in my apartment when the fire alarms started blaring at 4 am. I made sure my roommates were awake and out, threw on flip flops, and got out. It turned out to be a false alarm, but it made me think about things, because none of us even thought about grabbing our phones or anything.

Now in my first adult apartment, I have a firesafe box that I keep my passport and important papers in.

I think my favorite names that I have encountered at work are "La-a", which is pronounced "Ladasha" and "Abcde" which sounds like "ab-suh-duh".

And I don't mean favorite in a good way. Why do parents think these are good names?

I sort of enjoy Lux, but maybe as a nickname or something. I can just see my mother's reaction. "Lux? Like an Electrolux appliance?"

That said, I have some uncommon likes for girl's names. Lorelai and Paget top the list for girls, but I also love Penelope. For boys, I like the more traditional names... Matthew, James (but not Jimmy). But I also like Alec.

My sister bought a house about 5 years ago that was foreclosed on, and she found a small baggie of cocaine in the ceiling of the basement.

Me, too, alahoop. I'm looking forward to moving out of my parent's place (living at home during grad school, what a challenge...) into my own place where I can try mixing patterns up. I'm pretty sure I don't have the knack!

I have never ordered from DwellStudio before, and I have never ordered something from another country, so I may not be the best one to answer, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Do they have something on their website about ordering out of the country? DwellStudio is a pretty established brand, I would imagine that it is secure as it can be.

I've read that books in the bedroom are a no-no for allergy sufferers, which I am. So though I have books in my bedroom now, when I move out of my parent's house in a couple months I am banning more than three books in my room at a time.

Everyone says "don't get the iPhone," or they say "don't get the Droid." It really boils down to what you want to do on the phone. If you end up going to a lot of websites that use flash, don't do the iPhone, obviously. I've heard that even on the Verizon iPhone it is constantly dropping calls... they need to improve their antenna. A loyal iPhone user will tell you that they've never dropped a call before, and it's amazing.

However, a loyal Droid user will tell you the exact same thing. I myself lean more towards the Droid. Even as a Mac user I am constantly annoyed by people saying "Don't you wish you had an iPhone?" No. I don't. I don't have a smartphone, but when I get one, it will be a Droid.

As soon as I saw this post I thought, "There are going to be so many people saying to ditch the TV" and there were. Clearly this person wants to watch their TV, since they have one and are asking for advice. They are not looking to throw away their TV, and telling them to do so is pretty snobbish if you ask me.

This room does look beautiful without a TV, but I'll agree, float the couch and put the TV against that wall if it's too big to mount above the fireplace, or if you find that mounting it up there is too high for TV viewing.

Bell's (from Kalamazoo, MI) has a wonderful beer that's only available in the summer... Oberon! Traditionally served with an orange slice, it has a slightly different flavor each year. But it's always excellent.

I also favor Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat and I always will pick Blue Moon to drink!

My question is: does the tray dry out, if it gets all wet, or is it something you need to empty out yourself? Does it smell of mildew after a while?

I love these, but it occurs to me that my dog would try to eat all of these little rocks.

It seems like to keep the rocks clean all you'd have to do is maybe rinse them in the sink, or hose them off in the backyard if you can.

I've always removed the tape before it dries, because otherwise it certainly takes little chips off the paint.

I agree about the tape being more trouble than it's worth... IF you are a really good and accurate painter! I tend to be a really messy painter, and I like to use the tape. Last time I painted, my mom (who is a very neat painter) did the cutting in, and I did the rolling, and I still got my paint on the trim.
