I've been looking for a bedframe for 3 years. I recently looked at the Ikea site and they have a new bedframe with storage FJELL. I think this is the one I'm going with. It resembles the Pottery Barn one but less expensive.

I once dipped the handles of my hand tools in pink paint so I knew which ones where mine. It eventually chipped off, this would be a better solution. I'm adding it to my to do list.

Closed. When I worked for a property management company, we got a frantic phone call from a woman whose engagement ring was knocked into the toilet. I'm not sure the exact order of events but the toilet was flushed. She asked if there was anything we could do. Due to the design of the toilets, there were no traps, just pipes that lead to the sewers. All I could do is ask if it was insured.

Also, it's how my mother raised me.

Just off the top of my head the brands I will always buy: Tidy Cats Instant Action Scoopable Litter, Tide Coldwater Detergent, Bath & Body Works Triple Moisturizing Body Wash, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese and Murphy's Oil Soap. There may be more but most everything else I am willing to try other brands if they are on sale or more eco-friendly.

I would be concerned with peeling up the paint when you remove the contact paper. I guess it depends on how well the current finish is adhered to the doors.

I would change out the hardware, it looks dark and heavy. I like the the door-free option for the upper cabinets an earlier commentor made. It will force you to keep the cabinets neat and organized though.

No matter what you decide, I would suggest living with it for a month or two. See if you could decorate around it before doing anything that could jeopardize your security deposit and relationship with your landlord.

Good Luck.

I lived in an apartment like this before. I washed the walls, the cabinets, even on top of the cabinets. Pretty much any surface that is exposed has tobacco stuck to it. I remember pulling down globes for the light fixtures thinking they were ivory in color only to wash them and find out they were bright white.

Because it's a rental, you probably don't want to spend too much on repairs. Talk to the landlord about possibly replacing the carpets and supplying paint, or at least the paint color, so you can repaint the rooms after you wash the walls.

Good luck.

Under my bed is 4 leaves for my dining room table. They are 4 feet long and 1 foot wide and wrapped in a movers' blanket. I really have no where else to store those and I don't need my table to be 10 feet long all the time.

I currently have the basic metal frame that came with my mattress and boxsprings. I would love to get a real frame so I can lower the bed but I'll lose the storage. Any suggestions are welcome.

I love my loft apartment, I hate that it doesn't have storage.

When I make a quilt I only use cotton fabrics and I pre-wash before using the fabrics. Nothing breaks the heart of a quilter like having one of their quilts put away and never used because it's too "special". If you must store a quilt, every few months open it up, air it out and refold it in a different method than it was before (for example: thirds instead of halves). Batting has a memory and if you always fold it the same way it will crease.
